It only took 10 days to get our first Staging Success in Emerald Lakes , Long Pond, PA!
This story goes back a few years. I had just recieved my Accredited Staging Professional, ASP Designation and was itching to get my first client and get staging. It was a Sunday afternoon, coming home from Church when I see a yard sale sign which is not unusual here in Emerald Lakes. There are tons of yard sales every weekend in my neighborhood when the weather is nice. So, I dropped the family off at home and said what I always say, "Be back in a few minutes!"
I never know what to expect from one sale to the next but of course I was thinking staging inventory. Instead, I found an awesome "L" shaped desk that would be perfect for my newly added office space. It was a steal at $50 so I claimed it fast.
Because it was so large, I told the man I would have to come back for it later. Distracted by my excitement over the desk... I wasn't even thinking staging stuff. So when I return we get to talking and I find out they are moving to Florida and the house has not sold yet. " As if it fell from the Heavens" I thought.
Long story short...I told them about how staging their vacant house would help it sell faster and did a proposal for them. They said they really would like to try it but didn't have the money since they now had to hold 2 mortgages. Not wanting to loose my first opportunity in my own Emerald Lakes neighborhood, I decided to offer to stage it for free. I figured I would get some hands on experience, get to meet their realtor and get some much needed before and afters for my portfolio.
So...with no inventory to start I went shopping, pulled it all together in a few days and the result...The home, which had been on the market for 10 months prior, Sold in only 10 days!
Not only did I get experience, pictures and connections..I got the very first staging success of my career and the satisfaction of knowing I had helped someone in a very big way!!!
Well... 4 years and countless staging successes later, we are still helping homes sell faster and I am still using my lovely "L" shaped desk to write this post... It doesn't get any better than that!!

The St. Patrick's Day Parade in Stroudsburg on Sunday was definately the place to be! If you have never been to Stroudsburg, Pennsylavania before, Sunday would have been a great time to be there. The streets were filled with people from all over the region celebrating St. Patricks Day in all it's glory. It was truely a glorious day, the second day of spring, seventy-five and sunny...not a cloud in the sky.
Stroudsburg is located right in the heart of the Beautiful Pocono Mountains. With its quaint shops and Irish pubs it was a perfect setting for such an impressive parade. I last time I attended the parade was about eight years ago and now I am sorry I waited so long to return. There was truely something for the entire family to enjoy. From the kilts to the clowns to the classic cars we were kept captivated for the entire 2 hours.
My only regret...I was in Starbucks when the Irish dancers in full costume galloped by so I missed capturing that to share with you all. I did capture a lot though. Welcome Spring! The Poconos is such a beautiful place to be any time of the year but after the long winter, Springtime is definately my favorite. Up here on the Mountain we still have a bit of snow in our yard but the sun is shining and the birds are chirping. No flowers blooming here yet but someone just gave me these beautiful dafodills yesterday to brighten my world. Get out and enjoy! Thanks to Bob Kelly Of Keller Williams Real Estate, Stroudsburg, My family enjoyed a lovely Saturday afternoon with a brisk walk down Main Street Stroudsburg taking in all of the lovely ice sculptures on display. We were thinking of hiking it up to Scranton for their Ice festival until I saw Bob's blog about Stroudsburg Ice festival this weekend. We were already heading downtown for Mass with Cardinal Rigali at St. Lukes Parish so we left a bit early and this what we saw...
