Resources for Children with Special Needs

The Owensboro community is blessed with many resources and pro-active programs that not only help our neighbors, but improve the quality of life in our community for our children, especially for those children with special needs.

Dream Riders of Kentucky is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization providing therapeutic and recreational horseback riding for individuals with physical and mental disabilities.

Wendell Foster's Campus for Developmental Disabilities is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization and the region's resource for developmental disabilities. Its mission is to empower people with Developmental Disabilities to realize their dreams and potentials.

Audubon Area Community Services is one of the premier human/family and community services agencies in Kentucky. Audubon Area primarily serves 34 Western Kentucky counties. Programs include Child Care Assistance, Head Start, and many, many others.

The Owensboro Area Autism Support System (OAASS) meets on the 3rd Thursday of each month at 6:30 PM. For more information, contact the Wendell Foster Campus for Developmental Disabilities.
