I have to confess that Facebook never appealed to me from the beginning. Is not to say that I underestimate the fascination that so many share for the instant communication with the outside world. Appealing? ... maybe. Safe? ... questionable.
Has society become less private or is it Facebook that's pushing people in that direction? Is privacy online just an illusion anyway? I found that Facebook was just an other social networking were people post pictures, share information and let personal thoughts fly in the cyber space... in other words open yourself to the world to see and hear you... the circle of your "friends" - "friends of friends" and whatever else! If you thought Facebook was your personal playground, think again. Play the most popular games, and your personal information - and in some cases, your list of friends - is sent to app-makers and their allies in the advertising and data-gathering trades.
What about privacy? It seams that was not a concern in the original format of the Facebook. The founder Mark Zuckerberg keeps educating us all that the world has changed, that it's become more public and less private... Is that allright? or is strategicaly aimed to justifiy a fundamentaly wrong business practice and embarrassing technical glitches that exposed personal data! The controversial new default and permanent settings is an attempt to keep Facebook on the cruising mood.
Facebook founder Mark Zuckerberg used to say that people would share more information if they felt comfortable knowing that it would only be visible to people they trusted.
There is a long list of people who clearly do, though, including: people who've escaped abusive relationships, people with marginalized religious or sexual preferences, people who fear losing their jobs or who've been pushed around by bullies throughout their lives. That list adds up to a very large portion of the world, in fact.
And until Facebook can get past dating and weight loss (or broadly, personal improvement), it's not a great place for most advertisers. Being able to micro-target, isn't profitable if users won't click with intent (and I submit that many ad clicks on Facebook are accidental, given the bounce rates and time on page metrics that we see). The most annoying fact is that to access those Business Pages you need to login with your Facebook account... Business Pages are not accessible directly on line for everybody to see. What happens with promoting your Business?... Is the entire world supposed to be on Facebook?
As an intensive effort to reinvent the way Facebook integrates Business Pages, Advertising and Marketing into the System we see a broad interest of about every business(from corporations to the local small business) jumping on the wagon... Is Facebook Marketing Gold Or Hype? ...At least we can give a good use to our Facebook account. The only problem is left at the moment unclear is how you can create a Facebook business (fan) page without having a personal Facebook account. Does Facebook allow it - no. If you get caught, they shut down the account. You don't need to put much in the account - it can have very little information. I believe Hubspot has a few guides on how to set up Facebook accounts (see link and scroll down page for a few resources) that will help you - you want to me sure that you set up securities right and block information you don't want to show. And yes, you can have more than one business page with your personal account.

Analyst and director of Institutional Risk Analytics, Christopher Whalensaid on Bloomberg television: " The foreclosure crisis is slowly killing the nation's economy, and the government has no idea what to do" and that " the nation is only one quarter of the way through the foreclosure crisis"
So anyone knows what is going to happen in 2011?
"2011 is going to be the peak," said Rick Sharga, a senior vice president at foreclosure tracker RealtyTrac Inc. The firm predicts 1.2 million homes will be repossessed this year by lenders.
Nevada, Arizona, Florida, California steadily are affected the most from the economic downturn.
According to
" Nevada posted the highest foreclosure rate in 2010 for the fourth straight year. One in every 11 households received a foreclosure filing last year. In December, foreclosure activity increased 18 percent from November with a 71 percent spike in bank repossessions."
Mortgages will adjust accordingly, experts predict:
*** 7 Mortgage Trends To Expect In 2011 by Michele Lerner- Investopedia, 1/14/2011 (Home Trend)

Holden Lewis of Bankrate wrote this past fall that economists had predicted a rise in mortgage rates by the third quarter of 2010. At the end of 2010, mortgage rates began to climb out of the 4 percent range and slightly above 5 percent.
As result of the slow economic growth and a lack of consumer confidence the total mortgage originatios will decline.
Refinancing will decline substantially as the homeowners have difficulty obtaining a loan approval because of reduced equity or credit or income challenges. The MBA predicts that refinancing activity will drop below 40 percent of mortgages in 2011
The recent trend of stabilizing home prices will increase the number of applications for a mortgage for home purchase.
In the last quoter of 2010, mortgage rates on jumbo loans decreased, which will likely spur refinancing applications and purchase applications for the high-end housing market.
Aready we see an increase in all-cash home purchases. The trend will continue and become a significant portion of the market in 2011.
The new level of documentation and verification that is required for a loan approval will not slow down the process but the opposite... Holden Lewis at Bankrate says even if the number of loan applications drops, lenders anticipate that the time between application and closing will continue to take as much as 60 days. (and even 75 to 90 days)

Just came across an extraordinary article byJijo Jacob... It will be a best script for a Science Fiction movie but is not, it is a daring project by NASA who put together a research for colonizing planet Mars... WHAT? Do I hear it right?...
We are living extraordinary times on all fronts, from communication going viral in the cyber-space with the speed of light, Molecular Biology and Genetic Modern Medicine to Technology of Inter-Planets travel... We reach out to conquer them all!!!
Researchers at NASA have drawn up a plan to make the greatest adventure in the history of the human race possible - sending a human mission to the red planet and, hold your breath, colonize it! The researchers discussed the plan in the book, "The Human Mission to Mars: Colonizing the Red Planet," which was published in December.
Joel Levine, a senior research scientist at NASA Langley Research Center says "they have made a comprehensive plan. The plan covers every aspect of a journey to the Red Planet - the design of the spacecrafts, medical health and psychological issues, the establishment of a Mars base, colonization, and a revolutionary business proposal to overcome the major budgetary obstacles which have prevented the U.S. from sending astronauts to Mars,"
The details of the project of "Selling and Carving Mars" is after all not so fascinating as is the mere fact that we dare to populate an other planet and extend life to a complete different environment... makeing sure that it is safe and possible... How is this going to work out?... Remains to be seen. After all we experienced in our time the "first men on the Moon" an other incredible mission that for so many was incomprehensible but is now in the domain of history of mankind.
One thought... If that is technologically possible how do we know that we (human life on planet Earth) were not the result of an other similar experiment done by ancient civilizations of other planets??? Could that be possible? The Extraterrestrials?
