I didn't want Veterans Day to end without paying my respects to all the dedicated men and women who gave their time and put their lives on the line for this country. You are very appreciated. I have many family members who were in the armed services and families need to be recognized on this day as well. To all the mothers, fathers, sons, daughters, wives, husbands and every other loved one who stayed home and kept things running smoothly while worrying non-stop while their soldier was far away working hard. I cannot imagine the feeling of not being able to pick up the phone at any moment and talk to my loved ones on the other side. Today is a day to remember all the sacrifices veterans and their families have made and continue to make for this country, but it should not be the only time we remember and appreciate these individuals.
I just wanted to wish everyone a very happy, safe Halloween! If you're going to a party, take pictures so I won't feel like the only one who was ridiculous. Of course be safe and don't drink and drive; there are way too many precious little ones out on the streets all hopped up on candy and looking for the nearest doorbell not watching for cars.

P.S. She loves it. This picture is from my first Halloween with Kahlua (I adopted her in April of 2005 when she was about 3). I love pumpkins so I couldn't help it. Happy Halloween!

This picture more recent. She doesn't look like a scared pound puppy anymore; she's still a cute pumpkin too.

I promise this will be my last post about pancakes (for awhile at least), but I wanted to share pictures from the Pancake Supper the other night. It was a success, although not exactly what I had expected. Our choices were waffles or pancakes and bacon or sausage...We all obviously chose pancakes and most of us went for the bacon.
My sister was the first to get her pancakes. She was so excited! Actually, everyone thoroughly enjoyed their pancakes:
My parents enjoying dinner. Pancakes are such fun!
My cousin Haley, Uncle Jon and Randall. For some reason the table got very quiet once dinner arrived.
Randall and me enjoying dinner.
The damage was done quickly. Okay, I've had my fill of pancake posts, now I'll have to think of another meal to move on to. I also need more practice placing my pictures but there is plenty of time. I will have to go take some pictures of non-pancake items.
Now I'm hungry!
Tonight (October 16th, 2008) is the 27th Annual Pancake Supper sponsered by the Rotary Club of Myrtle Beach. For a $6 donation you get to eat as much breakfast food as you can handle. Six bucks per person is less than I spend eating out, even at the local Sonic usually. There are two locations to choose from in Myrtle Beach and tickets are being sold at the door. It's a great chance to help a good community cause (they are working on making our water safer), meet some new people and spend some time with people you already know. Did I mention pancakes? I'll even eat the first one.
The supper is taking place at two locations from 5-8 PM tonight:
Harrys Breakfast Pancakes, 2306 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC
Southern Pancake House, 7100 N. Kings Hwy., Myrtle Beach, SC
Come on out, I'll wave since my mouth will hopefully be full of pancakes!
