Thank you for making our Stage It Forward Round Tables such a huge success!
Between the two sessions (the 10:00 a.m. round table and the 2:00 p.m. session), we had nearly 40 in attendance. We can't thank you enough for having weathered the winter blast and for taking the time to spend the day with us.
And now for the much awaited pictures:

And special thanks to Sharon Conner (pictured above in the blue jacket) and to Abby Reilly & Kristi Oliver (pictured below). From greeting all the stagers and signing them in to note taking to picture taking, we appreciate all the assistance you provided. (Kristi on the left, Abby on the right).

Your hosts pictured above (Kathy on left, Karen on right).
I can't think of a more perfect time to extend my thanks to Karen Dembsky. Karen, whom we've all got to know through her blogs, is as committed an individual as I've ever seen. She's business savvy and has a heart of gold.
Karen - my dear friend, thank you for all that you did to make this event happen! And for the record, it was Karen who had recommended IKEA to host the event. Stay tuned for her special blog on all the support IKEA provided.
In the interim, Happy Staging!
Kathy
Oh how I wish I could wiggle my nose or blink my eyes and have a room complete. For the time being, I'll have to rely on the traditional way... a design plan; furniture & accessories all brought in to help make a difference in how the home appears.
This is the formal living room and served as a perfect place for the kids to play and do art projects. Given that this room is located immediately to the left as you entered the door, it becomes an important room in the overall staging of the home.
Now here's the "after" picture:

NOTE: I wanted to include the exact same angle. However, there's a very large mirror over the couch (on the wall to the right) that has cast a horrible glare on the art. I'm going to try and work/edit the picture and I'm successful, I'll repost.

In celebration of my 100th blog on Active Rain (which is so hard to believe), I'd like to thank the folks at Active Rain that have given me a platform from which to share my work, exchange ideas and perhaps more importantly, learn and share with others. This I know for certain, I'm forever appreciative.
And because what would a Kathy blog be without a picture? I share the following.
This is an occupied home I had the great pleasure of staging last week. Prior to staging, this dining room contained a sofa, chair and boxes. In the consultation, I made a recommendation that we take it back to what it was originally designed for. In this case, the homeowners, who definitely wanted and needed a dining room set went out and made a new purchase.
Here's the "after" picture:

As you can see, I've captured the ceiling in this picture so that potential buyers viewing the home on the internet will see this great feature.

As I finished up staging my latest in-town Atlanta home, I took the time to experiment with my latest purchase; a Nikon D80. There's definitely a great deal to learn and I'm committed to making the time to learn all the wonderful features the camera has to offer.
Given the importance of the "after" photos (for the homeowner, agent and my own portfolio), it's going to be worth the investment in time and effort.
In the interim, I played around with the angle on the following shot and wanted to share it with you.
Here's a picture taken at the front entrance:
Here's a different angle. As you can see, this picture better captures one of the features of the home; the ceiling.
Are there things that can be improved upon with this photo? Most certainly. Will I take the time to learn? You bet! As for the staging itself - the Realtor gave it an A+ and said it was excellent. That, of course, warmed my heart.

This particular project, I'm pleased to share with you, earned me three of the most prestigious awards: The first-ever Raffia award for Staging Excellence awarded by Jackson West; the Diva award from Fernado Rosado and last but not least, the Cookie Award from our very own Maureen Henry. What an honor it was.
I called this project "Color & Balance." We loaded the furniture and accessories with warm tones throughout.
