Does anyone know how to take the HTML from a POINT 2 listing? I was trying to copy and paste the HTML template provided by POINT 2 to post on Craigslist. When I pasted it, all of the codes appeared and it was anything but pretty. I would really appreciate some details as to exactly how this is done? I would like to consider myself to be pretty darned computer literate......but I just cannot figure this out. HELP please?????
So, im my previous blog, I asked for some horror tenant stories. Since we have had so many (sigh), I would love to share the worst we have had.
Last Christmas Eve, my husband and I received a call from the Pastor of a local church. He told us about an elderly homeless couple that he wanted to help. The church was to pay their deposit and first month's rent. The couple stated that they would then be able to pay rent on their own. We have big hearts, so of course, we agreed to let them move in our last vacant apartment. My husband used his truck to help them move and get settled in.
Well, the second month came, and they hadn't paid rent. The man told us that he was expecting a check from family services. Still feeling sympathetic, we decided to wait it out. The third month came and went.....still no rent. We also noticed that the utilities were still in our name.
After alot of phone calls and "misunderstandings", we ended up in court. We had to evict the couple. The judge gave them the benefit of the doubt and allowed them 3 more days to pay.
Of course, they midnight moved along with stealing 2 heaters and a dehumidifier that we had purchased specifically for their unit. They were using moldy mattresses they had pulled from a dumpster and therefore, mold had spread to the entire apartment.
After everything, we lost over $3000 from these events.
We've certainly had our fair share of them....... anyone care to horrify us with true stories of crappy tenants?
So fear of the unknown has been plaguing me lately. Life as an investor is exciting most of the time....you get the rush of "the deal" and then fuel yourself up for the next adventure. My husband and I are expecting a baby this summer. I am starting to feel extremely nervous about what thefuture holds. It's been so hard for me to resist throwing in the towel. I applied for an awesome job that I am actually qualified for......and really, I don't want it. What I want is for our plan to work.........the plan that we will sustain ourselves financially without answering to a boss. I love what we do and everything that we have accomplished has been so rewarding; however there are those times when I wonder "Would it be easier to just be like everyone else?"
I would appreciate if some more seasoned investors could provide some tips as to how they keep their motivation and desire.
thanks for reading!
BSO, which stands for Buying and Selling Opportunities, opened in November of 2005. We are a family company consisting of my husband Joe, our Uncle John and myself. A few have come and gone since the beginning, but the three of us are holding on tightly to our dreams of one day taking over Charleston Real Estate. We love what we do and do what we love....what could possibly be better than that?
We have done almost as far as Real Estate goes......flip, wholesale, invest, rent, buy, sell...etc. We are now diving into the wonderful world of mobile homes. I like to call it "The Road Less Traveled". We learned to swallow our pride and really get down to the nitty gritty. I know that big things are yet to come......stay tuned!
