Staging a Vacant Home Already on the Market

Homeowners that have vacant homes lingering on the market frequently come to me for help. It is never too late to stage a property to show its true potential. However, as all real estate agents know, it is always preferable to have a listing look it's very best when it is first introduced to the market.

Most agents are excited that the homeowner realizes the need to stage a vacant home in order to bring that 'warm and inviting' feel. We all want every property to sell.

It is common for the photos of the home taken prior to becoming vacant are those that remain with listing. I certainly don't encourage replacing those with photos of the vacant rooms. That is certainly not the way to bring the buyers to the door. I have found that frequently after the vacant house has been staged, the same 'pre-vacant' photos remain online. The energy of staging has been partially depleted. It confuses the buyers. When a home is professionally staged, the photos will look terrific and the home fresh. We want the buyers to share the newly created photos with friends and family showing them how terrific the house is they want to buy.
