About Alice and Bolton-Johnston Associates of Grosse Pointe

I grew up in the Detroit Metro area and remain here. I graduated from Grosse Pointe High School and received my B.A. from Michigan State University in Communications Arts & Sciences. I also did some post-graduate work at Wayne State University in Guidance and Counseling. I feel that all of these areas of study have prepared me very well for my current profession as a Realtor with Bolton-Johnston Associates of Grosse Pointe.

As a long time resident of the Grosse Pointe area and the eastern suburbs I am very familiar with the neighborhoods, schools, parks, shopping and - Real Estate, of course! I have been actively in the Real Estate business for over 10 years and have represented both Buyers and Sellers.

I have my Accredited Buyer Representative (ABR)designation which, as the Real Estate Buyer's Agent Council (REBAC) notes: " ABR® education provides the buyer representation expertise you need for an edge in today's evermore competitive market."

I have also earned the designation of e-Pro from the National Association of Realtors (NAR). This designation allows me to help "meet the needs and expectations of the Connected Consumer." And, that "connected consumer" is definitely the wave of the future particularly as it involves Real Estate today. Many more people are not just moving five or ten miles away from where they grew up or currently live but, rather, hundreds and thousands of miles away. The computer has become a BIG factor for relocation movers. With the use of not only outside/front photos but also interior and exterior photos as well as virtual tours of houses and even neighborhoods those clients moving from great distances can get a pretty good "preview", if you will, of the area to which they will be moving from the comfort and utilization of their personal computer. I, at one time, represented a Canadian family who were living in Milan, Italy and were exploring the Metro Detroit area due to a job transfer. Upon connecting with me they did end up purchasing a home in Grosse Pointe Park! So truly the times they are achanging! And Buyers and Sellers are ready and expectant that the Realtor they choose to work with is computer savvy and ready to assist them online from wherever in the world they happen to be.

I believe in working with my Buyers and Sellers to help them meet their goals. A big part of this is to become familiar with their likes, dislikes, hopes, expectations and - to listen to them. And, that is what I do!

Areas of Expertise

As far as representing my Buyers I work hard to show properties that will fit their wants, needs and financial capabilities. I welcome questions and answer them to the best of my ability or find the answers from a knowledgeable source. And, I will be there at their closing.

For my Sellers I help them in determining the best price range to list a house at based on up-to-date data of the local market and the "competition" they will face. I will give tips as to how best to "present" their house to Buyers and review the various "steps" of the process that the selling process will take. I welcome questions again and will either answer them or seek guidance from others. And, I love to go to their house's closing - start to finish - I will be there.

I have been active on our local Grosse Pointe Board of Realtors on committees such as: the Education Committee, Events Committee and the Community Services Committee. I have participated over the years with the Grosse Pointe Thanksgiving Parade and our local board's Home and Garden Expo. I have also been on the yearly scholarship committee for graduating seniors from 3 of our local high schools.
