We are Looking for a GREAT 2009 In Kentucky!! THE SUN WILL SHINE AGAIN!!!
Today in London, Kentucky we attend a Tea Party in front of the Laurel County Court House. Much like the Boston Tea Party in 1773, Where colonists in Boston protested against Taxation without representation, They refused to accept three ship loads of taxed tea and they also refused to send it back to Britain. So some Colonists boarded the ships one night and threw all the tea into the Boston Harbor because they believed that it violated their constitutional right to be taxed only by their own elected representatives. Therefore being called The Boston Tea Party.
There was no Written agenda today. Anyone who wanted to express their concerns could speak. Which we all did by showing up. Mostly the crowd protested all the spending by Washington because their Children, Grandchildren and Great Grandchildren will have to pay it back someday. One statement was made that is so true "YOU DON'T SPEND YOUR WAY OUT OF DEBT"
I have tried to teach my children, you don't spend what you don't have. You work hard and then you work some more and you save until you have enough to buy what you want. You don't spend and then look for someone to bale you out!!

Well today is my son's BIRTHDAY. HAPPY BIRTHDAY GEOFFREY!! I kinda started a tradition by doing a post for my Daughter's Birthday on February,5th. Then on February 13th my husband's Birthday and did a post about him.
My son is 9 years and 3 weeks younger than my daughter. He kinda had two Mothers cause my daughter has always been his second Mother. I only have two children and having them 9 years apart has had it's blessings. She was always my baby sitter, aways watching over the baby. They are very close even today and I am very proud of both of them.
My son and his wife (AMANDA) have two beautiful little boys Hunter is 5 and Kyle is 3. Geoffrey joined the National Guard when he was 17, and how I remember so well because I had to sign for him to join. He has served a 13 month term in Iraq. He loves his COUNTRY and is proud to serve!! He is currently working for the FEDERAL GOVERNMENT in LAW Enforcement. He is still active in the National Guard, spending the last two weeks in Western Kentucky, where the ice storm hit very hard.

Geoffrey is a Very Good Father, and a Hard worker, and loving SON. Happy Birthday son I am so very proud of you. May God Bless you in everything You do.

Over 200 REALTORS® participated during the 2009 Hill Visits held at the Kentucky Capitol in February. Many REALTORS® had opportunities to meet with their Senators and Representatives on issues affecting real estate.
While visiting the Capitol, The Alcohol Industry was protesting a bill that would raise taxes on all alcohol sales, by circling the Capitol.

Governor Beshear signed legislation that will raise taxes on cigarettes 30 cents, and an added six percent tax to all alcohol sales. It is projected that the alcohol tax will generate $97 million per year and the cigarette tax will generate $81 million per year. The increase of the taxes are hoped to make up for the $456 million deficit this fiscal year.
