La Mesa, Ca. - Gourmet Food Trucks have gained enormous popularity in the recent years and San Diego has it's fair share of delicious and amazing Food Trucks. Late last summer Food Trucks began to gather in the La Mesa Village on Friday evenings serving up gourmet food from some of San Diego's most popular trucks. The event was reoccurring up until the end of the year when the event ended due to the holidays, however this Friday they are back and with a new location! Starting today February 10th, 2012 Food Trucks will gather to serve up food from 5pm to 8pm at 7871 University Ave in La Mesa. This week the trucks featured will be Devilicious, The Gooch, Super Q Food Truck, Sweet Treats Truck, Thai on 1 and Asian Persuasion Food Truck. This is a great reoccurring event not to be missed and and a great thing to do in La Mesa! Happy Eating!

Wow it seems like it was just yesterday when the Mortgage Forgiveness Debt Relief Act was signed and took effect due to the declining market, but the reality is that it's set to expire in 12 months time. Since time flies I figure now is a great time to bring up this subject and how it may affect 2012.

Under current law tax payers are allowed to exclude income from the cancellation of debt from their principal residence. Principal residence is typically defined as a home lived in for at least 2 years out of the last 5, not necessarily in continuous order but at least 2 years total time. The provision is in effect for this transactions closed from 2007 through 2012.

What does this mean for homeowners considering a short sale to avoid foreclosure or to dispose of a home worth less that what is currently owed? You may have tax implications if your short sale closes after 2012! So if you are considering a short sale, now may be the time to begin preparing for your sale.

Does this mean 2012 will have an influx of short sale? In my opinion it probably will and since most banks/servicers are stepping up game to process short sales perhaps it's a sign of the increase they will have.

My advice for those considering a short sale is to begin the preparation process now in order to ensure the transaction closes smoothly and any issues the can come up are given enough time to clear.
