Gold Canyon Arizona July 2009 -- Home Buying and Selling Stats

At a quick glance Gold Canyon Arizona home prices are continuing in general to drop in price, but the average price of sold homes in July seems a bit higher as some higher priced inventory was among the homes sold. On the surface this would seem to bring the average price up a bit for the month. The average price of Gold Canyon homes sold in July 2009 was $298,825. The average price of homes sold in June 2009 was $205,545.

The number of homes sold is only slightly down from last month. July 2009 saw 42 homes sold. June 2009 saw 44 homes sold. And a year ago, July 2008 saw 24 homes sold. So the number of Gold Canyon homes sold in a 30 day period has continues to be approximately doubled since a year ago.

Gold Canyon Arizona Peralta Fitness Comes Back From Recession

Many small Arizona businesses have been affected by the recession, with many closing. Fitness facilities have been particularly hard hit as families lose jobs, lose homes, and have had to dramatically cut back on funds spend for things like fitness. One local fitness studio in Gold Canyon Arizona, Peralta Fitness is fighting its way back.

During the darkest hours of the recession, owners Thomas and Mary Lynn Priess had to take supplemental jobs at local area Applebees to keep themselves afloat and a roof over their head, and while they still have to supplement the fitness business with added jobs, they are re-ramping Peralta fitness back up to pick up the needs of the community for fitness and health.

Other big box fitness has closed, making Peralta Fitness the only fitness facility in Gold Canyon.

Queen Creek and Chandler Arizona Schools Begin in July with Modified School Year Program

It’s only July but the students in Queen Creek and Chandler Arizona school districts return to class beginning the week of 7/27/09. Both districts are on a modified, year-round calendar. Queen Creek students return to class Wednesday 7/29/09. Chandler students return Monday 7/27/09.

At a glance - the average price of Gold Canyon Arizona real estate market, (as like the rest of the Phoenix market) is continuing to drop in price. Gold Canyon homes experienced one of its largest 30 day price drops in June 2009 that it has seen in a long time. The average price of Gold Canyon homes sold in June 2009 was $205,545. The average price of homes sold in May 2009 was $255,593. (This is a drop of average price by about $50,000.00 in a 30 day period for a $250,000.00 priced home.)

In June of 2008 the average price of homes being sold was $409,140. (In the last 12 months the average price for that same average home would have dropped about $200,000.00.)

While the average price of Gold Canyon homes sold is going down, the number of homes sold is rising. June 2009 saw 44 homes sold. May 2009 saw 35 homes sold. And a year ago, June 2008 saw 21 homes sold. So the number of Gold Canyon homes sold in a 30 day period has approximately doubled in the past year.
