
The annual all you can eat Sherwood High School (SHS) dungeness crab feed fundraiser & silent auction in Sherwood is underway. This much anticipated Sherwood event will again take place at the Sherwood Robin Hood Elks Lodge on Saturday, January 28th from 5:00 to 9:00 pm.
Tickets are on sale now for $35 each for this all you can eat crab cracking feast! Come support a great cause, but hurry you’ll need those tickets so get yours before they’re all sold out! Tickets are available through any SHS baseball player, or by contacting info@sherwoodjuniorbaseball.com.
Ever since we were invited by some friends of ours, the Bowmen crab fundraiser has become an annual tradition for the Gardner family! We LOVE CRAB and look forward to attending again this year with some of our friends and family. Come join the fun, we hope to see you there!

Autumn Decorating Ideas …. Continued:
1. For a fragrant treat, fill a ceramic bowl or a wood or wicker basket with oranges, lemons,pine-cones, nuts, and pieces of evergreen. Place the container just inside the front door for a special welcome home.
2. Decorate a wreath for your front door with clusters of berries, ornamental grasses, and other fall finds. Purchase a wreath form at a local crafts store, then simply attach the berries and grasses with wire or hot glue.
3. Lead trick-or-treater’s to your door or dinner guests to the back patio with country luminaries made with old glass jars. Put a bit of sand in the jar and set a small candle in the sand. Line the sidewalk with the luminaries or even hang them from trees with wire. If you plan ahead, you can also order battery operated tea-light candles which are perfect for projects like this. Battery operated tea-light candles are also safe to use in paper bag projects.
4. Make an autumn garland for your mantle with colorful apples. Use an awl or knitting needle to pierce through the apples from side to side. Pull twine through the hole and knot it to hold the apple in place. Spice up the display by alternating apples with gourds, walnuts, or leaves.
5. Accent a door or wall with a swag of Indian corn. Use twine to connect the ears, knotting the twine after adding each ear. Tuck in pressed maple leaves for even more color. Then loop the twine at the top to hang.

The Gardner Boys: Tyler, Mason and Gavon have taken on a fundraiser to help find a cure for cancer. All proceeds raised will be donated to the American Cancer Society’s Sherwood Relay For Life 2011 (Team Liam).

About Relay for Life 2011

Join us this Saturday August 6th at 10:00am & Sunday August 7th at 10:00am at Sherwood High School for the 2011 Relay for Life of Sherwood!
There’s an amazing list of entertainment and activities lined up for everyone at this year’s event. As always, our Relay kicks off with Opening Ceremonies followed by the Survivor Lap. The Silent Auction (chaired by Team Liam) opens at noon on Saturday with auctions closing at 2:30, 3:30, 4:30 and 5:30.
The Sherwood YMCA will be hosting the Kid’s Zone from 11am – 7pm with fun activities for kids of all ages. Catch Zumba Dance with Brynn Sylvester at 11:00am Saturday, and the unforgettable ‘Miss-ter’ Relay contest at 3:00pm on Saturday (Our oldest son Tyler is a great sport and will be participating in Miss-ter’ Relay for the second year in a row).
Great Main Stage entertainers will be Matt Buhler at Noon on Saturday, Joseph Conty at 5:00pm and Radiyo Silence at 8:00pm. Don’t miss the moving Luminaria Ceremony at 10:00pm. And of course you can check out the schedule of events to find out more!
