--all of the way up there at number 5. This is slightly over a 139% increase from 12 months ago, and we all know that anymore, 2 months is huge in this market. Florida was ranked at number 4, California - 3, Arizona - 2, and Nevada was number 1.
Just attended Alliance Title's Foreclosure and Short Sale class today, and confirmed what they are seeing as well; "incline" in Idaho's numbers of late, keeping title companies plenty busy, and values dropping as we spoke. Highlighted many of the "gotchas" to watch out for in NJFP's (Non-Judicial Foreclosure Proceedings), in particular a timeline for each part of the proceeding to happen. Will add that list to tomorrow's post, but just keep in mind that for the most part, "short sales" aren't.
Bottom line though, gotta find a way to "absorb."

Below is a market report grid for Ada County. Data pulled from Intermountain MLS. If you would like additional information on a specific city within the county, please write Bev@AccentIdaho.com and I'll gladly oblige. As yet, IMLS does not break out the foreclosure/short sale/REO data in their monthly/quarterly reports, but perhaps that is coming soon; our local listings just began utilizing these classifications for ease of searching. Boise and Meridian both are great examples of areas so large that they are broken into several pieces, such as "NE Boise" or "Boise Bench," etc., so if you're interested in info for a specific area, please just let me know!

Following @idahofreedom on Twitter I found an article from the CDAPress containing major kudos to the likes of Eagle, Idaho opening its check and receipt register for all to see on the city's website! The link is called "transparency" and can be found on the left side of the homepage--what a breath of fresh air! Way to go, Eagle, Idaho!
The U.S Treasury's program to infuse money back into the banks so that, in theory, they'll lend money out, is called the Troubled Asset Relief Program. Two hefty banks that operate here in Idaho who were recipients of "TARP Money" and seem to be doing some lending are Key Bank and U.S. Bank. U.S. Bank received $6.59 billion, but hasn't utilized it yet. Key has received $2.5 billion and is apparently already boosting its own ability to lend.
The March 3rd Idaho Statesman has the final tally. By a very wide margin, the district will be able to utilize the twenty million dollars over the next two years to do things like help keep the schools supplied, and hire additional personnel to keep class sizes down. FYI, the levy will equate to $58 for every $100,000 of assessed property value for homeowners.
