Earlier this month I had a great evening attending Fraser Valley Stage presents Starlight Radio Thea
tre show at Matsqui Centennial Auditorium. Great nostalgia for us who remember the radio shows of the 1940s and 1950s. It was a great night of singing and comedy. Well done players.
Abbotsford's Realtors where well represented by the multi talented presence and lead actor Mr. Charles Weibe of Landmark Realty. Charles performed a gut roaring rendition of Abbot and Costello.
I was both surprised and pleased to see, Bill Borman, who gave me my first job in real estate, pushing a mop across the stage as the curtain raised on the opening act. Bill was the owner/broker of Gale Realty and later the owner of Realty World Abbotsford Realty. Bill I had no idea you had such rhythm!
Written and directed by Faith Toronchuk and Ruth Dallas Rich the players showed once again what great talent we have in Abbotsford and the Fraser Valley.
I'm off to buy tickets for, An Evening of Gilbert and Sullivan, at The Reach in Abbotsford on April 16, 2009. Are You?
Better late than never is my motto.
I want to give a shout out to Fraser Valley Stage and their presentation of Starlight Radio Theater Show early this month. Our local real estate community was magnificently represented by the talented Charles Weibe, Landmark Realty. Charles presentation of Abbot and Costello's routine, "Who's on first" was hilarious. (as was his partner)
Bill Borman, my first real estate manager, and past owner of Gale Realty and the Abbotsford Realty World Franchise. Bill did a magnificent job of pushing a broom which is a talent I did not he possessed.
I know what a Full Monty is but their next production is The Half Monty. I can't wait.
Jig Patel, Hobbs Herder, did a presentation in our office today. Jig is an excellent presenter who challenged our Real estate mindsets.
Here a few gems from his presentation:
DECISION MAKING:
We are one decision away from changing the rest of our lives.
SYSTEMS:
Start with something small. One phone call. One email. Add to it every day.
Systemize it.
Don’t run your business.
Let the system run your business.
FOCUS:
In every opportunity there is risk.
Focus on opportunity not risk.
FAITH:
I will base my decisions on faith not fear.
VISIBILITY AND PERCEPTION:
The public’s perception of a Realtor, us, you, me, is based on our visibility.
Without visibility the public has no perception of you, us, me.
VALUE:
In the absence of value it always comes down to price.
How do you sparkle amongst all the other Realtors? (What makes you valuable?)
Build value through differentiation.
Build value through specialization.
Today the public is looking for value in a Realtor.
MONEY:
It’s not about outspending your competition.
It’s about outsmarting your competition.
Pay more for value.
Pay less for the same.
Product vs. Commodity
You, the Realtor are the product.
The house is the commodity.
Market the product … YOU!
MARKETING MATERIALS
What are your marketing materials saying about my product, you?
Good ads cost the same as poor ads.
STRATEGIES vs. TACTICS
Strategies are the reasons you do what you do.
A vision is a strategy.
Tactics are how you fulfil your strategies.
REAL ESTATE ROULETTE
House ads say: PICK ME!
Realtor ads say: PICK THIS REALTOR
