What I do...

I sell houses with the fewest hassles, in the shortest time, for the most money.
Additionally, my buyers save 15-20% off the asking price buy using my buying plan.

Outside of real estate, I enjoy traveling, skiing, playing ice hockey, hiking, or playing golf. I can often be found walking my dog, Emma, with my wife, Jana, or working in my yard. My wife is from Czech Republic and I spent 3 years studying in Germany. I am currently learning the Czech language, and she is wanting to learn German. We sometimes feel as though we live with one leg on each continent and our hearts split down the middle.

My previous career was in education. I taught High School German and every other age English as a Second Language. This has most certainly helped to shape my real estate career. I continue to teach a couple of adults German, and I give couple lessons in improving their American English pronunciation.

I have been working on updating and upgrading my home since moving in five and a half years ago. I've most recently been working on installing new bathrooms after having torn the old ones out down to the studs. I just started tiling the master bath after having installed a glass block surround. We can't wait to be finished! The next project will be refinishing the basement, complete with fireplace and bar.

How I'm different...

I do the dirty work other real estate agents don't do so I can price the home right to get it sold sooner, for more money. I tour an average of 100 homes per month, this helps me to keep my finger on the pulse of the market. My background in teaching taught me that I always need to be educating myself. My better than 40 hours per year of continuing education help me to keep my negotiation skills sharp, always on top of what's new in marketing, or investment strategies, to name a few.

I offer free home evaluations for my sellers which details all the things a homeowner would have to do to bring top dollar for their home. They can obtain free home staging tips, home repair and modernization tips, and compare their home to the amenities of their competition.

As part of my multistep Smart Listing Program, I show them how to place their home at the top of the competition to make certain the buyers will be fighting to buy their home. I shop the competition to try to find the absolute exact place in the pricing we need to be based on location, condition, and amenities. I price them so they are in the top 5, preferably the top 3 in the area. This makes certain the home sells sooner and therefore for more money, which is most often the single biggest goal of sellers.

For my buyers, my knowledge of home repair, architecture, and systems allows them to have realistic expectations whether touring a historic home or new construction. They always know that because I've been personally rennovating my 1962 trilevel myself, I have firsthand knowledge to share. My experience is, however, not limited to the resale market. Since I have been involved with new homes since beginning in real estate, my clients know that they can count on me to stay on top of their buildjob, so if there is a problem, it can get resolved prior to closing, while all parties are still engaged in the contract.

My after sale follow-up makes all the difference in the world if you have a problem. Many times buyers call me up asking questions about what their warranty covers, or if they have water in their basement, or some other problem. The most important thing to me that you are happy with your purchase and your new life.
