I read two articles today in two different newspapers (one from the BALTIMORE SUN and one from the USA TODAY) that stated the first time home buyer tax credit is up for consideration to be extended and expanded in Baltimore County, Maryland and throughout the rest of the country. I pasted links to both stories at the bottom of this message.
From what I read they are planning on trying to extend the first time home buyer tax credit until the end of April. Under the new proposal, from what I read, first time home buyers will have until the end of April to enter into a fully executed contract of sale, but will be able to push the settlement until June. I did not see anything else about the $8,000 rules changing from the original bill that is currently in place right now and set to expire on November 30, 2009 (ALL SALES MUST BE CLOSED BY THAT DATE):
