As the holidays come to an end, one shining star stands out on top of the Highlands-Cashiers Plateau Christmas Tree--The Tom Sawyer Christmas Tree Farm & Elf Village, in Glenville, North Carolina. For decades, area residents and visitors have come to Tom Sawyer's Tree Farm for their centerpiece to the tradition of family Christmas...the Christmas Tree.Elf Village
Over the past several years, the people at Tom's Sawyer Farm have transformed the grounds into a seasonal spectacle to the pleasure of all that visit. They have also transformed the tree purchase experience into a day-long event, with numerous attractions and activities. This year, our visit included over 4 hours of fun, starting with a great horse drawn hay ride through the farm. Santa's Elf Village took almost an hour to tour and kept big smiles on the little-ones who ended up on Santa's lap for the yearly wish-list interlude. We then enjoyed a good lunch at the Christmas Shop and Craft Store...Jolie loved the Christmas book about the magic sled, and the nationally recognized author signed and discussed his work with us. Finally, time to pick out the tree...and the selection is never ending! By the way, we were pleasantly surprised that the Tree's were priced quite reasonably, and really was the entire day. This place seems to get bigger and better every year...and we are looking forward to do it again next Thanksgiving!

Featuring a multitude of incredible feeding waterfalls, multiple islands to explire and nearly 1500 acres of surface area, a summer day touring Lake Glenville is as good as it gets! The Lake is also an angler’s delight with bass, walleye, trout and many other species to pursue. Wildlife abounds this lake and if you get lucky you may just see a bear swim across.

Lakefront homes enjoy an incredible lakefront views and direct lake access typically with a floating dock. There are not ever many lakefront homes for sale to choose from, typically around 30 for sale on the entire lake at any given time.
