The best source I know of for News and Events concerning the Glenhaven Lakes Community of Sedro Woolley, Washington is the Community's official web-site: http://glenhavenlakes.com/COMMUNITYEVENTS.html

There is a lot of information available about Glenhaven on the site including the Community's Covenants (CC&Rs). The site still has several areas "under construction" but is well worth looking at even at this stage of development.

Is Skagit County Prepared for a Flood or an Earthquake?

01-01-08
Bill Sauneuf
In 2007 Washington was pounded pretty hard with rain.... There was devistating flooding in Southern Washington that destroyed a lot of homes and closed I-5 for days.

In 2006 Washington was pounded pretty hard by wind storms... I remember that at one point, over a million people were without power.

Fortunately Skagit County was let off pretty easy by mother nature in both of these storms. Skagit County had damage, but we were not devistated by the storms like other areas were.... In short, we were lucky!

What will we face in 2008??

Skagit Count Commissioner Sharon Dillon, District 3 wrote a very good article on December 19th, 2007 summerizing her thoughts on this issue. The article discusses what could happen in the Mount Vernon area as well as how you can prepare yourself and your home.

Here is a link to Commissioner Dillon's article:

A Good Local Handyman... Keith at "Odd Jobs"

Keith Hinze at Odd Jobs

I often get asked for referrals to various local service providers... One of the most common requests is for someone that can help with miscellaneous odd jobs around their new home or to help get a home ready to sell...

I do have someone that I often recommend to people and I thought I'd give him a nod here... Keith Hinze has a company called Odd Jobs. He does just that.... Odd Jobs around the home. He charges reasonable rates and does good work.

If you have a household project anywhere in Skagit County that you could use help with, I recommend that you give Keith a call at (360) 391-1638 and I'm sure he'll take good care of you and your project.
