The Housatonic Resources Recovery Association (HRRA) has scheduled the next Household Hazardous Waste Day for May 19, 2007, from 9am - 2pm.

Residents of Danbury, New Fairfield, Ridgefield and Redding will be able to drop off their household hazardous waste at the Newtown Public Works Garage, located at 4 Turkey Hill Road, Newtown.

Items that will be accepted include:

  • Stains and varnishes
  • Furniture and floor polishes
  • Cleaners
  • Swimming pool chemicals
  • Fluorescent bulbs
  • Pesticides
  • Transmission fluids
