The Chai Story. Please Read......

About a week ago, I had a very touching and sad story sent to me. I have a 8 month old chocolate lab so I took it to heart. The story is about a dog named Chai and his unfortunate disability caused from a simple dog toy produced by the company Four Paws. For those of you who need the short story and are unable to read the entire blog, here is what it boils down to.

Four Paws produces a toy called a "pimple ball". When Chai had bitten into the ball, the ball had actually created a suction due to there not being a second hole in the ball to prevent this. The aftermath was his tongue to become stuck in the ball. The ball swell around Chai's tongue and eventually not only did the ball have to be cut off, Chai's tongue had to be amputated. Chai has had to face so many challenges in this event including things that are second nature to any living thing. In the blog there is a video that shows Chai and I have to be honest, I haven't brought myself to watch it yet.

I would think that a well known company would be doing everything in it's power to help this poor owner and animal in this incident but they haven't done much, if anything. They have however, posted a warning on their website. There are over 500,000+ of these balls out there so naturally the first thing I did was to make sure one of Allie's (my lab) toys wasn't one of these ball.

Please spread the word about this because it's happened in more than this case. Click the link for the full story. As sad as it is, its worth your time.
