Michele Bee love her first time home buyers!

FHA and VA are the way to go in today's market!

Prices have come down, lots of affordable properties to look at.

Hey...think about this...

First, Last and Security=Most or all of your down payment with FHA.

So Why Rent in Today's Market when it is the time to buy!

Gifting Green in an Economic Decline

Well the holiday ads are upon us...I saw the train coming down that holiday track today on QVC , and now I cannot get jingle bells out of my head. But it got me to thinking about what to do over the holidays and what kind of gifts I would be giving. One thing that I have begun doing is trying to use my "grocery" bags, which I am keeping in the car. I got the pink ones for breast cancer awareness month so it went to a good cause, plus I love the color pink! So one great choice could be reusable bags with your company logo on them.

One of the things that you can think about when purchasing a "green" gift is the life cycle or the way that product actually got to you or the retailer. How much did it cost to ship it, does it have packaging the can be recycled, and where was the product manufactured.

Businesses that do employee gift giving don't need to fret in this economy, there are great "green" affordable choices out there like organic candles, lotions and potions. Organic wines or monogrammed eco friendly towel sets...even a beautiful house plant (which is great for indoor air quality) makes a fabulous gift.

How about eco friendly gifts that can be purchased locally from retailers and artists vs being shipped to you (think about that...shipping product via ground or air uses gas and energy). By purchasing "green" gifts from local vendors you are also supporting your local economy. Recycled glass jewelry and solar flashlights are terrific gifts.

In this day and age, we all still love to get gifts, but now we can do them with a twist! A green twist that is!

Hurricane Relief for Homeowners in South Florida? Not What You Would Think!

The oddest thing has popped up with all of the "unfortunate" weather events in South Florida looming. I refuse to use the "H" word!

Several people that I spoke to this week were actually hoping for a hurricane. Now typically you would think that is surely 1970's thinking, ie. hurricane parties, riding out the storm and generally having a grand old time getting through the weather.

Nooo...the underlying and very serious tone that I heard was repeated over and over again...by mortgage brokers, realtors, and regular folks.

"If a hurricane comes and destroys my home...I am out from under the situation I am in."

"Maybe the banks will move faster now"

"I hope a hurricane comes along and wipes out that investment property I have"

Sad but true...that is the level of frustration and some desperation that homeowners in South Florida have is at that point. They would rather deal with no electricity, flooded streets, complete inconvenience and much much more as we have experienced and know.

I thought about this last night while watching Ike move towards South Florida on the SE path it was taking. It has pushed further south, and I always pray for a cold front to push things south. When I woke up this morning it was still on my mind so I felt I needed to share what I had heard.
