Last week while waiting for the sporting clays tournament to start (at Flint Oak, KS) I was amazed how green all of the grasses, weeds and trees still are. You have to admit that this is quite unusual for this time of year. End of August and instead of browns and grays - as far as I could I saw vibrant greens, so fresh and so 'young' almost like in the spring...
Next to the station I noticed something 'steering' at me...perfectly tucked and camouflaged... as always I have my little camera with me...

While visiting Oklahoma Fairgrounds where American Quarter Horse Association had showings I came across this breathtaking piece of art...Craftsmanship at its best! Couldn't resist not to take a picture of it... I wish I knew a history of it...believe me it is not an every day saddle!
My friends mare had a serious surgery and had to stay in the vet clinic for a few days. Her colt who was always very active had to stay with her. Both of them were confined to these four walls...the little guy was less than happy, however and needed lots of attention while his mama was getting better ...
This is my friend's grandson Sam who is giving Spanky his full attention...

ARCHERY - developing discipline and skills - Youth archery classes available
Everyone knows how passionate I am about sporting clays...but if your child is not ready yet to 'golf with a shotgun' yet but wants to participate in shooting sports and is interested in improving their skills in target shooting - this class could be a good start.
Yukon Parks & Recreation will offer archery classes FRIDAYS Sept. 4th and 25th at the Jackie Cooper Gym, 1024 West Main in Yukon, Oklahoma.
Classes will meet @ 10AM to noon - boys and girls from 10-13 yrs old.
Participants must provide five target arrows. Class size is limited.
