Here is the POCONO SOLD DATA for the Average Sold prices of those homes that sold in October of 08 versus October of 2009.
Overall you can see the prices are a little bit closer together this month. The average sold price for the County for October of 08 versus October of 09 was only down by 5% for the month. When comparing this to the 13% that prices are down for the year, October was a "nice step up" for prices. YAHOO!
Maybe I'm to much of an optimist (teehee).

Good News! As you review the chart you will see that 7 of the Townships actually had more sales this year for the Month than they did last year. WOW! Great numbers and we love to see positives. Most would attribute this incline to the first time homebuyer tax credit, I'm sure it is. Now that the credit has been extended and revised to include more homebuyers, let us hope that the trend will continue.
The total number of homes sold for Monroe County in October of 2009 was 154. One hundred fifty-four. Again, WOW! That is only a 4% decrease from the number of homes sold last year at this time.

7' MOUNTAIN OF SCARVES - 500 Scarves for the Holidays!

Help me build a 7' Mountain of Scarves for my annual "500 Scarves for the Holidays" drive. This will be my 4th annual drive and we are looking for donations of scarves (knit, crochet or purchase one). I try to crochet at least 50 each year for this annual drive.
The Mountain above consists of approximately 250 scarves and is about 3' tall so I have a long way to go to get to my 7' goal. Please Help!
The scarves are then donated to charity organizations around Monroe Count, PA such as the Salvation Army. Naturally they can use all that I can get for them.

7' MOUNTAIN OF SCARVES
In driving around checking properties LOOK WHAT I FOUND TODAY. The following pictures are some great views and some GORGEOUS COLORS OF FALL FOLIAGE here in the Pocono Mountains of Pennsylvania. I was quite impressed.

This view was from atop the mountain in Mt. Pocono, across the valley, over Mt. Airy resort, and on and on for miles.

And in a close-up of the same area, you can really see the colorful scenery. Natures artwork!

And an even closer shot of just the valley and all its splendor of color. These are pictures I will cherish for quite some time and I hope you enjoy them too.
POCONO SOLD DATA-3RD QUARTER STATS FOR MONROE COUNTY. Here are the statistics for the 3rd Quarter in Monroe County for residential homes depicting the average sold price and the number of homes sold for 2009 versus 2008. The total number of homes sold for the 3rd quarter of 2009 was 423; 2008 was 484; a 12% reduction. The average sold price for these homes was $164,000 for 2009 and $191,000 for 2008, a 14% reduction. Not the best news unfortunately however if you compare the 3rd quarter to the 2nd quarter the number sold has improved since 2nd quarter sales were down 19% for the year and the 3rd quarter is down 12%. As I said before, we're getting there!
