East Stroudsburg University is set to celebrate this year's homecoming this weekend! Saturday at 2:30, the ESU Warriors will take on the Bloomsburg Huskies in what will surely be a great football game! ESU goes in with a 5-1 record, while Bloomsburg is still undefeated! You will find lots of homecoming activities and old friends if you head up to the stadium, or you can catch it on the radio or Blue Ridge TV Channel 13! It's also a great time to take a trip to the Poconos, too, because of the beautiful fall foliage that abounds as you are approaching our area! If you head out to any of the activities, have a great time!

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month!

Look for the pink ribbons! October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month. It's easy to find the pink ribbon items throughout the year, but now you'll see a lot of promotions for pink ribbon products. Even the NFL players, coaches & refs were wearing pink everything yesterday! One of the many places to find pink ribbon items is at the Marshalls Creek Flea Market. Of course, these purchases benefit a great cause and help create awareness, but there are really nice things for gifts, too! In building A at the flea market, a breast cancer survivor has opened a booth where she sells all different kinds of items. From umbrellas adorned with a little pink ribbon to pink rubber duckies, she has a little bit of everything. She's there all year long, so when you find yourself travelling through the Poconos, take a little trip to the Marshalls Creek Flea Market and visit all the shops!

Runners take your mark! On Saturday, November 8, there will be a 5K road race with proceeds benefitting the Teacher Ranger Program. This new program focuses on connecting young people with nature and involving them in trail running, hiking and stewardship of the environment. No better place to have this race than through the Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area! The road will be closed to vehicle traffic that day, so runners can enjoy a safe, beautiful run through the recreation area in the colorful fall we have in the Poconos! Did you know that Delaware Water Gap National Recreation Area has over 5 million visitors a year? This places us in the top ten of our country's national parks, visitor wise! For more information about this Run for the Rangers 5K race, you can visit either aardvarksportsshop.com or poconoarearunningclub.com!
