Don't forget! If you're traveling through the Delaware Water Gap area this weekend, it's the annual Jazz Fesitval Friday through Sunday. World-Class entertainment, food vendors and arts & crafts vendors. Delaware Water Gap is such a quaint little village, and the Jazz Festival really accents the uniqueness of this area. Just a quick jump from Stroudsburg, Route 80 or New Jersey, it's definately worth the trip for this entertaining weekend. And it looks like the weather is going to be nice, too! Sunny and in the low 70s. Perfect! Bring a blanket or chairs and find a place to settle in.
According to the Pocono Mountains MLS, August 2009 had 156 closed residential sales in Monroe County, (35 of them were foreclosures) with the average sales price of $164,461. Compare that to July of 2009, which had 133 closed sales with an average sales price of $158,912. That's an increase of nearly 3.5% in just one month! The other piece of good news here is that the average days on market is 102 days...just over 3 months. Which goes to show you that when the house is priced right, it doesn't stick around very long! Let's see what September has in store for us here in Monroe County.
We're here at Stroud Fest, watching all the vendors come in and get set up, with lots of activity happening. This is going to be another huge event in Stroudsburg! And it's gorgeous weather here today! It's a nice cool 66 degrees right now, and the day will warm up! We're going to be sunny all day, with temps in the low 80s. Grab the family and swing down to enjoy food, vendors & entertainment all day! Leave your sweatshirts at home because it's going to be a beautiful, warm day in Stroudsburg! The Allentown Fair is happening this week, it's always a great trip to take down from Monroe County! It goes through September 7, with some GREAT acts and tickets still available! At the Grandstand, Earth, Wind & Fire and Chicago perform tonight! Kelly Clarkson will be there tomorrow, Friday's headline is Tim McGraw and Saturday night's show is Brad Paisley with special guests Dierks Bentley and Jimmy Wayne! There is also a lot of entertainment for kids, many vendors (food and arts & crafts), and always a good time just people watching! A quick ride down from Stroudsburg, just jump on Route 33 to Route 22W to the 15th St exit. Follow the signs and Have a great time!
The 2009 Garlic Festival is next weekend, September 5 & 6, at the Shawnee Ski Area in the Pocono Mountains! Always a fun time to be had by all! Your advanced-price ticket of only $7.50 gets you all day entertainment, fun and games for the whole family, 50 food stands, crafts people, and farms, and just an all around great day!
