I had an open house yesterday and today and five couples came buy ready to buy. Took there contact info and sent e-mails. I couldn't believe that I would have anybody on a Sunday or Monday with the gas prices so high around here, in our two subdivisions, but three have been pre-qualed and were looking to move closer to their jobs.
I will add that nobody made an offer or signed a contract and I feel that we have hit the floor around here with people thinking they are going to walk away with a gift of a home for $100k under asking price. I don't care what's going on around the world; people still need a home no matter what the circumstances.
I feel there is hope in the world and we as Realtors must pass this on to get the market moving where ever you're at. Let's get our world turned back around and start telling people the interest rates are low (5.25-6.0) and it's time to buy.
I keep thinking it's just me with all the problems and here at AR, I've been reading many story's like mine. I been working hard and not had the paydays as of late. It is all over and have been spending many hours researching not only my market (Down 28% from this time last year according to NAR), but it's down in other markets on AR. With the news today of Fannie Mae/Freddy Mac, I think we all will be on the move again.
What I'm looking for is the media to change to the positive as they have been killing us locally. My local paper prints articles from the hardest hit places in the country and then I hear about the news from my prospects.
I feel that gas prices and now the interest rate going in the same direction that we can rebound from the past quickly. I know a few mortgage people contacted me today and all sounded very positive, so we need to call all our prospects to get this market moving again.
Oh and by the way, I think my teeth will be alright. I know the dentist always loves to see me after a bad few months...lol
Just went through a major electronic problem and I have to tell you it was rough. My laptop would not charge and found the problem to be a broken wire in the charger.
Problem is, this is my heart and sole and thought I could get by with just ordering a new one on-line ($100+ by the way). Really thought that I could get by for 3 or 4 days to let me relax and then about 6 hours into it, I felt sweaty, nervous, started thinking about if a prospect were to try and e-mail me, I'd miss them. This is a slow market and have many prospects I've spoken to over the past few weeks that were interested in buying, made me fix the cord that was broken real quick.
Too addicted to selling real estate I think...what do you think?
