Whats Happening New Jersey

Fun Museums in New Jersey

We all know about some of New Jersey's bigger, well funded museums like The Liberty Science Center. What a great place to spend the day. What you might not know is that New Jersey has a large number of smaller, off the beaten path museums that are just as amazing for both adults and children. Here are a couple that I really like:

Morris Museum
6 Normandy Heights Rd., Morristown, 973/971-3700

Imagine That!!! Discovery Museum for Children
4 Vreeland Rd., Florham Park, 973/966-8000

Northlandz
495 Hwy. 202 S., Flemington, 908/782-4022

My favorite of them all is the Silverball Museum in Asbury Park. If you are a pinball fan like I am, you have to make the time to go here. Not only do they have all the nostalgic pinball machines from your childhood, but you can play them all...no quarters needed. Make a day of it as Asbury Park has some wonderful restaurants as well!

Silverball Museum: Pinball Hall of Fame
639 Cookman Ave., Asbury Park, 609/577-0232

Any other hidden gems???

What's Happening New Jersey

A couple months back I wrote a blog about 101 Fun Things to do in New Jersey:

http://activerain.com/blogsview/1760414/101-fun-things-to-do-in-new-jersey

The blog made me realize that there is so much going on in our great state that we don't know about, but probably should. At the very least it's good discussion with our clients. Being in the Real Estate Industry, we should know our State better than anyone. So this has inspired me to write a weekly blog about something fun going on, some kind of different event...something happening in New Jersey!

New Jersey Tree Farms

Tree farms in New Jersey? I thought you had to drive to Pennsylvania if you wanted to cut your own tree. Who has time for that! Well what better a tradition than loading the family up in the car and goping 10-15 minutes to the local tree farm to pick out this years tree. Here is a list of tree farms in New JErsey:

  • Dixiedale Farm, Chatham, NJ, 973/635-2097; weekends Nov. 26 to Dec. 19; you cut or pre-cut, saw provided.
  • Evergreen Valley Christmas Tree Farm, Washington, NJ, 908/835-0557; daily from Nov. 25 to Dec. 22 except Mondays; you cut or pre-cut, BYO saw. Make an event of it, take the free wagon ride through the field to find your perfect tree.
  • Fleming Farms, Long Valley, NJ, 908/852-6996; weekends Dec. 4-19; you cut, saw provided. Bonfire, refreshments.
  • Hamilton Farms, Boonton Township, NJ, 973/334-6528; daily from Thanksgiving to Christmas Eve, 9 am-6 pm, Sundays to 5 pm; pre-cut.

Millburn Top New Jersey High School Again

Every two years New Jersey Monthly Magazine devotes an issue to the top High Schools in NJ. It is a great honor to make the top of the list and for Millburn to be number 1 for the second time in as many lists it is an incredible accomplishment. There are some excellent High Schools in New Jersey, one of the many great reasons to live in this state. Whether you agree with the list or not, for people buying or selling this list is an important tool. It's all about perception and people perceive the towns that make this list to be the most desirable towns to live in. Thus the list can only help property values! This is a great honor for Millburn and all the other towns that made the list.

According to the National Association of Realtors, 84 percent of buyers now use the Internet to search for properties

Real Estate Internet Marketing is gaining much importance nowadays, as it is highly important for those who are engaged in selling real estate online. According to a survey conducted by a top-rated magazine, more than 75% of people lean on the internet to buy their dream home. Whether it is 75% or 84% or anywhere in between, one thing is clear, it is more important than ever if you are a Realtor, to have an internet presence.

Since many Realtors have their own sites on the web, with features such as pictures of properties as well as floor plans, it has enabled the potential customers for hassle-free home buying. A website not only enables to promote a Realtor's properties but also to promote the services they render.

But, there are such a great number of real estate-related websites that it has now become an overwhelming process for a particular real estate website to get ranked high among the search engine results. Here comes the role of real estate internet marketing.

Where does a Realtor begin...with REALTOR.com, Yahoo! Real Estate, Zillow.com, Trulia, Google and so many others. You could spend so much time in front of a computer that you fail to prospect new clients. You could hire a marketing consultant, but who wants to spend that kind of money.

As a mortgage broker I have found that this is the perfect opportunity to help the Realtor's that I work with. It's incredible; I have found that many Realtor's do not know the first thing about the internet. Many do not have the time to deal with it! That is fine, if they have good trusted partners they can focus their efforts on what they do best, sell houses! I, in turn focus on getting their listings found on the internet. I make sure their listings are posted to Craigslist regularly. I become their marketing department.

I know that I cannot get all my Realtor's referrals, but I can help their business in other ways. The most interesting part about it, when I meet new Realtors and tell them some of the things I do, they get very defensive and make sure I know they already work with a Mortgage Advisor. You are not the only Realtor I work with; I do not expect to be your only Mortgage Advisor. All I ask is an opportunity to show you some of the things I can do to help you with your business!
