Short Sale Boca Raton Realtor Earns CDPE Designation!

FOR RELEASE: IMMEDIATE

DATE: 07/13/2009

DAVID SERLE EARNS PRESTIGIOUS DESIGNATION TO HELP HOMEOWNERS IN DANGER OF FORECLOSURE

David Serle of RE/MAX Services in Boca Raton has earned the prestigious Certified Distressed Property Expert (CDPE) designation, having completed extensive training in foreclosure avoidance and short sales. This is invaluable expertise to offer at a time when the area is ravaged by "distressed" homes in the foreclosure process.

Short sales allow the cash-strapped seller to repay the mortgage at the price that the home sells for, even though it is lower than what is owed on the property. With plummeting property values, this can save many people from foreclosure and even bankruptcy. More and more lenders are willing to consider short sales because they are much less costly than foreclosures.

In the Boca Raton area, more than 670 homes are in danger of foreclosing. It is happening in all price ranges. Local experts say that even high-priced homes are not immune.

"This CDPE designation has been invaluable as I work with sellers and lenders on complicated short sales," said David Serle "It is so rewarding to be able to help sellers save their homes from foreclosure."

Alex Charfen, founder of the Distressed Property Institute in Boca Raton, Fla., said that Realtors® such as David Serle with the CDPE designation have valuable training in short sales that can offer the homeowner much better alternatives to foreclosure, which virtually destroys the credit rating. These experts also may better understand market conditions and can help sellers through the emotional experience, he said.

The Distressed Property Institute opened in January 2008 and provides training on-site and online. The CDPE is the premier designation for Realtors helping homeowners in distress and handling short sales.

"Our goal is to educate as many people as possible so we can help as many homeowners as possible," Charfen said.

Thank you David I appreciate it now he is doing my email stationery as well. It is so important to brand everything you do on the web, and so I am revamping everything I do on the web to have that same consistent theme. Check out my website as an example.

Why do Real Estate Agents Need So Many Vacations?

I have several reasons why we need to get away, and get away a lot.

  1. As real estate agents we need to wear many hats. We deal with people on a daily basis so we have to hear all of our client's personal, family, and medical problems.
  2. We also have to play secretary by scheduling their moving dates, inspection dates, appaisal dates, when to put kippy the dog for boarding, and anything else you can dream up.
  3. We have to cater to our client's every need. Sure I can pick up your groceries just give me the list. No probelm I would love to pick you up from the airport 50 miles away and show you homes that you cannot afford. Not a problem I would love to continue to show you homes because you have nothing to do, and would love to look at nice homes. Would you like me to change your bed pan too.
  4. We have to be knowledgeable about 3421 communities. Make sure we do not slip up or the homeowners will let you know.

I do make fun, but I seriously love what I do, but in order to continue to be successful especially in this market you must take vacations even if it is a day or 2. I decided to take my family on a boat on a Thursday last week because I needed to get away we boated all through Boca Raton and Jupiter. A great day, and now I am even more refreshed.

Miami Heat Past & Present Stars Help to Educate Struggling Homeowners

We all know that the real estate market has declined and that foreclosures and short sales are on the rise. The problem with people being in trouble is that there are always some that will pray on those same people. There are many loan modification "scam" companies that charge upfront fees of up to $4000 to do a loan modification, and don't really provide much of a service if any.

Now the Miami Heat's players Dwayne Wade, and Alonzo Mourning are taking their show on the road, and helping educate people who are facing foreclosure. Here is a link to the interesting article. Kudos to Dwayne Wade.
