If You Are Renting, You Need To Read This.

Have you heard the one about the renters who paid their rent on time yet were thrown out of their home? There's got to be a catch, you're thinking. They had to be loud and unruly, maintaining a nuisance house? Parents of crazy teenagers? Owners of menacing pets that barked constantly - all hours of the day and night? Oh yeah, they paid the rent, but not the HOA fees! Well...NO, no, no, and no. None of these were the case. In fact, these were ideal tenants that paid on time, maintained the owner's/landlord's property, and got along wonderfully with their neighbors.

The landlord did a great job of screening the tenants. Unfortunately the tenants didn't screen the landlord well enough.

Come to find out, the tenants were paying rent as agreed, but the landlord was not paying his mortgage as he agreed to do at closing. Therefore, the $2500 per month that the tenants paid was going straight into their landlord's pocket and no further! The tenants and all of their belongings were thrown out into the street, literally, by the bank holding the landlord's mortgage. And guess what, the tenants in this case, had no recourse, other than to seek alternate shelter.

Unbelievable, but oh so true.
