Will it never end?

Rain, rain, go away, come again another day. Can you believe the amount of rain in our area?

As of April or early May we were down over three inches and now er are up an inch.

Needlessto say the grass it green. In fact it is drowning and may get root rot.

I know we need it to replenish the ground water suppl, but does it have to come all at once?

My Normandy France D-Day Pictures

Normandy D-Day is a reminder that freedom comes with a responsibility and a cost. The greatest generation never fails to remember. Will subsequent generations be willing to bear the burden?

Bedford, Virginia, 7 miles from my home is the home of the National D-Day Memorial.

In 2002 we traveled to Normandy with friends and were moved by the beautiful burial grounds of the D-Day grounds there. Here are some pictures.

Normandy Windmill
1. Is the actual D-Day Memorial. 2. These were the cliffs our boys from Bedford had to climb. 3. Is it any wonder as a precentage, there were more of our Bedford boys killed here than any other town in the US. 4. Not all the beaches had the same risks. Some were easier to land on.If you look carefully, you can see the concrete barges that were connected together to form a temporary harbor the boats could land as all the other harbor areas were well fortified by the Germans. 5. An Upswing?

Although sales are still very tenuous in the Lynchburg, VA area, we are seeing good news and it has been over the last four months. Average prices have been on the upswing for that period, number of days to sell are less and unemployment dropped for the first time in 6 months to 7.2% in April.

Lynchburg area also was the only area in Virginia to see an increase in jobs over the last year.

All good news!

How are your stats doing?

Now is a great time to buy a home.
