KCRAR Sunflower Region Chairman
I believe it is important to be involved in the future of real estate on a local, regional and national level. Changing and challenging markets and new legislation demand effort to protect our association goals and objectives and our livelihood. I support initiatives to educate our members with timely training and educational resources to improve members performance in an ever changing market. It is important to share industry ideas and information in social and networking settings. In working together we will keep our vibrant industry flourishing. RPAC is an integral function to have our voice heard in all political matters.
Experience and involvement in Real Estate
I have been involved in the real estate profession since 1992 and active member of KCRAR and the Sunflower Region committee for seven years. I chaired 3 regions golf tournaments and actively involved in RPAC auctions. I serve on the affiliate advisory committee, the "of the year" Awards committee and the Media Spokesperson Group. I was named KCRAR affiliate of the year for 2008. I am a certified instructor and taught Homebuyer education classes since 1999. I have provided valuable real estate training at lunch and learn meetings. Awards include Presidents Club, Chairmen's Club, Circle of Excellence , Executives Circle, Presidents Circle, and Platinum Club Team.
Experience and involvement in the community
This morning on CNBC they were talking about the existing home sales reports. The reports indicate that the housing market is in good shape for homes selling up to $250,000.00 after that there is little or no activity. Our local MLS stats support those statistics. I think our government should be looking at increasing the FHA loan limit to at least the conforming loan limit of $417,000.00. It seems to me that if we give people an opportunity to buy a home with great interest rates and a 3.5% down payment that would open a lot of doors. Does anyone have any idea how we can get NAR and congress to look at this idea?
Your comments would be appreciated.
