We are so fortunate to have our own local community radio station right here in Nevada County. When I first moved to Nevada County 8 years ago, I had never heard of KVMR, nor did I know what "community radio" meant. I want to send out a big thank you to all the volunteers and broadcasters for contributing to our community....and to all the new members who signed up a few weeks ago. Thank You!

I love shopping at the Briar Patch for my organic produce. The staff is always helpful and friendly and again, how fortunate to have this Coop right here in our community.

Last but not least, is the South Yuba River Citizens League....Protectors of our Beautiful Yuba River. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to swim in a clean river, when 60% of America's rivers are polluted.

As a Real Estate agent in Nevada County, I cannot express how important a healthy and thriving community is and because of these aforementioned non-profits, Nevada County is Blessed and I am grateful to play a small role.

A Grape Affair

The 6th Annual "A Grape Affair" will be held on the beautiful grounds at MacBoyle Lake on the Loma Rica Ranch, from 2 pm to 7 pm. This event will feature 14 Nevada County wineries. Attendees will sip barrel tastings, new releases, and chat up the winemakers, and will receive a commemorative wine glass. Wines will be for sale by the bottle. There will also be gourmet treats prepared by local chefs for purchase, classic rock music by Fade 2 Blue band, and works of local artists on display.

Tickets are $25 in advance, $30 at the event, $5 for designated drivers, and are available from local wineries or on-line at NSWineCountry.com. Info at 1-866-355-WINE. Northern Sierra Wine Country Association is a non-profit group dedicated to supporting the growing wine region in Nevada County.
