If you are looking for the perfect Christmas tree......look no further. I have been visiting Dzen Christmas Tree Farm in South Windsor, Connecticut for the past 23 years and have never been disappointed. It actually has been a black Friday tradition of ours to kick off the Holiday Season.

Dzen Tree Farm strives to produce the highest quality of agricultural products and offer only the finest selection of Fresh Cut or Cut Your Own Christmas Trees. In fact, Dzen Tree Farm has devoted 140 acres to Christmas tree production and has over a mile of gravel driveways that provide easy access to the entire farm.

My family and I prefer the Fraser Fir for its strong limbs and ability to retain its soft needles (which do not prick easily when hanging ornaments), but Dzen Tree Farm also offers Balsam Fir, White Pine and Colorado Blue Spruce trees.

Dzen Tree Farm is open daily from 9 am until 4 pm from Nov. 28 thru Dec. 24. All trees are $35.00 and cash and check are the only accepted forms of payment. If you choose to cut down your own tree, saws will be provided. Wreaths, holiday plants and other decorating accessories are also available in the greenhouse.

Dzen Christmas Tree Farm is located at 215 Barber Hill Road in South Windsor, Connecticut.

From Hartford, take 84 East to exit 62 - Manchester/Buckland Hills Mall. At the traffic light, turn left onto Buckland Road into South Windsor. At the tenth traffic light, turn right onto Route 74 East (Ellington Road). At this time, you should see directional signs for Dzen Tree Farm. At the second stop sign, turn left onto Miller Road. At the second stop sign, turn right onto Barber Hill Road. The farm is a ½ mile on the left side - look for the Welcome Building at the entrance.
