Yes it's Portland Brew. A no frills shop on the 12th South stretch. They do have two other locations, East Nashville on Eastland Ave and West Nashville on Murphy Rd. I generally tank up at the 12th South location because of proximity to my home but for some reason if I find myself anywhere near the other two locations I usually stop, whether I need the caffeine or not. It's just so darn good.
So if you get a chance to stop in at one of their fine locations do it. I guarantee addiction is not far off

Obtaining Financing for your new home can be one of the largest obstacles in the home buying process. Especially with today's strict standards. A few years ago some borrowers didn't even need to show employment. Today it's a different ball game.
Often times I am approached by a potential home buyer that wants to start looking for a new place. They will sometimes say I am looking in the $XXX,XXX range. My response to that is, do you really know what you can afford and can you actually obtain a loan for that amount? Now I am not trying to discourage any buyer with that statement but I do want them to be informed. Let's face it, when it comes down to it, what they can afford will dictate what homes they should be looking at.
With that in mind, I'd like to introduce Lee Dozier from Churchill Mortgage. I have worked with Lee in the past to help clients obtain financing for their home purchases. Lee's approach is as straight shooting as it gets. Yes he's honest and has integrity but also is in the business for the right reasons. Churchill Mortgage has been around for over 16 years and has grown about 25% since the "market meltdown" started a year and a half ago. This says something about them. To grow during a time when things in the Real Estate market have not been so great. Ever heard of Dave Ramsey? He's a strong endorser of Churchill Mortgage. You can catch his show on 99.7 FM between 1-4pm.
I urge you to call Lee even if you are just thinking about the prospects of owning a home or you want to move into that larger house. He will let you know if it's possible and if it's a smart move. It certainly is a good time to buy. Prices are down.

Summer is about at it's end and today I could feel the first sign of Fall in the air. Here are some things you might want to do around your place to prepare for the Fall and Winter...
1. Check your heating system. You don't want to get caught on a sudden cold day to find that your heat does not work. Turn it on and make sure it's working. Change filters where needed.
2.Flush water lines in sprinkler systems and garden hoses. If any water is left in those lines you could risk damage from freezing and expanding.
3.Make sure your gutters are clean and functioning. Gutters full of debris will not work properly. Also check the down spouts so that they are directed away from the home and not collecting water beneath them.
4.Check your foundation for entry points. Small animals like to ride out the cold under your house. Cover any openings or cracks to prevent a winter guest. Mice can fit through a hole the size of a dime. Unless you don't mind a critter or two taking refuge down under, seal them up.
5.Check the batteries in your smoke detectors. Enough said.
6.Trim any weak or over grown branches on trees and bushes around your yard. Fall is a windy time of year and flying debris can cause considerable damage.
7.If you have storm windows and doors install them. Remove and clean screens and store them for winter. Replacing them with storm windows and doors will help keep your heating bill down and also help keep screens from Fall and Winter wear and tear.
Before you know it the yard will look like this...
