The Brian Worrell Team
I'm very please to announce June Dempsey as my assistant and life saver joined my team as of about half way through the summer!! June is not only my mother-in-law and often babysitter for my two kids, she is an extraordinary asset to my team on so many levels. She is currently working on attaining her real estate license as well.
And this month - September - Rachel Leal has joined the team. Rachel is also a teacher at Bales Intermediate in Friendswood. She brings an amazing level of energy and enthusiasm to the table! She is also fluent in Spanish!
We're also saving a spot for my wife to join at some unknown future date!

Well, I was just a featured agent on Hot On Homes for Taylor Morrison and the Mar Bella community in League City, TX. Hot On Homes is a local real estate program on Channel 2 (NBC) on Saturday and Sunday mornings. I can't explain why, but it can be very intimidating to be interviewed on camera. I made it through the interview, and luckily, they did enough video editing to get my segment down to about 5 seconds!
Here's a little bit about Mar Bella -
One of the first things you'll notice when you enter Mar Bella is that it is a resort-style living. Not only are you going to see it, but you're going to feel it!
The community features 40 acres of scenic interior lakes, 20 acres of recreation amenities, a waterfront community rec. center with a resort-style pool and splash pad, pocket parks, greenbelt trails, and a 44-acre nature preserve. Mar Bella is surrounded by attractions such as Schlitterbahn water park, the Kemah Boardwalk, Space Center Houston, and the Clear Lake boating community.
The highly acclaimed Clear Creek ISD has just built the Education Village, with elementary, intermediate, and high school, immediately adjacent to Mar Bella.

I just got back from a Sherlock Holmes play called "Sherlock Holmes and The Crucifer of Blood" at the Alley Theatre in downtown Houston. It's refreshing to go into town without the kids on occasion. And it helps you really appreciate the diversity and culture of things to do in our great city!
We had a blast! Ate dinner at Perbacco, an Italian restaurant in the theater district. The food was excellent. I highly recommend it. The cappuccino was amazing. Hit the spot! Gave me the perk I needed to stay up and write a blog...

EAGUE CITY LIFTS MANDATORY WATER RATION!!! (Now only voluntary)
Thanks to the conservation efforts of the citizens and businesses of League City, the City has been able to downgrade to Stage 1 Voluntary Water Rationing as specified by the League City Code of Ordinances Chapter 114, Article VI, Drought Contingency Plan. The cooperation of our citizens and the hard work of our water production staff led to a successful Stage 2 Mandatory Water Rationing. Our water usage decreased substantially and it is those efforts that allow us to lift the restrictions. However, those same efforts will need to continue to be made in order for the City to avoid returning to the restriction of Mandatory Water Rationing. We’re asking everyone to please follow the voluntary guidelines listed below as specified in our Drought Contingency Plan.
Voluntary water use restrictions:
Additionally, we have a signed contract in place with CDM, Inc. to perform surveying and engineering services for the immediate plant assessment at the Highway 3 Pump Station. CDM has been working with the City on this issue since July 8th.

To borrow a line from Ratatouille, it sure was "lightningy" the other Saturday, 7/18/09... I was out in the middle of the storm getting a contract signed. It was an awe-inspiring light show.
I know of at least 4 fires that occurred due to lightening in the League City / Friendswood areas... This is very unusual. Does anyone know how extensive the damage was? I know if was likely a total loss for one in Friendswood just off 518 east of 528.
I have a friend at League City VFD that said the fire was raging out of the rooftop before VFD were to the scene.
The Galveston Daily News wrote " One fire happened at a home on Murphy Drive, the second at a condominium complex near FM 518, while the other was at a house in the Polly Ranch subdivision. The first lightning strike happened at a home on Murphy about 8:28 p.m. causing minor damage to an attic. That fire was out almost as soon as it started and did not require a fire crew to snuff it out, Friendswood Volunteer Fire Department Chief Marc Faber said.
The second blaze came after an apparent lightning strike at a house in the 100 block of Oak Drive in the Polly Ranch subdivision at 8:29 p.m.
Faber said no one was home at the time of the blaze that caused extensive damage to the house.
A Friendswood firefighter discovered the third fire as he was responding to the blaze on Oak Drive. Faber said the firefighter spotted flames coming from a condo on Hideaway Drive not far from FM 518. The extent of the damage at that complex was not known late Saturday night.
All five of Friendswood’s fire trucks and crews responded to the blazes with help from League City and Forest Bend volunteer fire departments, Faber said."
Way to go League City Fire Fighters and Friendswood Fire Fighters. What great teamwork and cooperation between two great cities!!!
It's a wonder it doesn't happen every storm... Praise to the fire-fighters... Pray for these families... This is very sad for these people.
