Home Warranty Inspections

Most new homes come with an 11 month warranty that requires you, the homeowner, to review the home and submit your findings to their warranty department. This is a good plan. One problem: unless you are a home inspector, you won't have all the knowledge and tools you need to perform a proper evaluation of your home.

Your first step in properly evaluating your home for your warranty should be an inspection by The BrickKicker Inspection Service. Hiring a qualified professional to do your inspection will give you the upper hand when handling your warranty work! Instead of handing a piece of paper with a list of things you "think" might be wrong with your home, you could have an entire comprehensive report with pictures from an industry leader in quality home inspections.

The specialized industry tools a "good" home inspector uses cost on average $2.5k (fyi: these tools are not just screwdrivers and hammers that the average homeowner has laying around). The BrickKicker has gone a few large steps past the average and has many tools that will not only enlighten, but excite you during your inspection. Not to mention the training and certification, professional computerized reports with pictures, and insurance for the consumers' protection.

It is in your best interest to hire a qualified home inspector when it comes to warranty work. It is for your protection and piece of mind.

Do Inspections Really Help Buyers???

As an inspector, I would hope the answer would be a commanding "Yes!"

With the technology and education out there for home inspectors, your inspector would have to be exceptionally antisocial and/or a massive ignoramus for you to believe they can't help you.

However, some of my clients have mentioned that their past inspections were not nearly as informative. This inspired me to conduct an online poll.

This Old House has posted some great pictures on their website of some home inspections gone wrong. I can't get enough of it. I've seen some funny do-it-yourself projects gone wrong, but these are unbelievable! Some people should have to show credentials before entering a hardware store. You should take a look: CLICK HERE
