Wow, what a week I have had on Active Rain!

To put the finishing touch on it,

I was tagged for a MEME! (an opportunity to talk about yourself)

To sum it up! 10,328points (yeah me!)

30 Blog Posts! (now 31)

AND ~ I also had the pleasure of making an offsite connection with an onsite Active Rainer, Steve Kappre. He is the highest ranked Active Rain mortgage broker for Gloucester County, we spoke and he has been refered to one of my clients already.

SO here goes the 5 things that I think you will find most interesting about me!

1. I have two children with unique needs ~ Nicholas is 7 and has Angelman Syndrome, for more information visit the ASF Website. I also head up the Walk to raise funds and Awareness for the Philadelhpia Region, we have an individual fundraising page which can be accessed at www.angelman.org/nicholascella . My older son Joe is 9 and has some socialization and learning issues, they are both doing great!

2. I was born and raised in Maine, my family is still there!

3. I have had some insteresting jobs, here is a list from the first to my present:

  1. Cleaning Crew - my dad worked at a wood mill and I was part of the clean up crew on the weekends, I would climb down into apit filled with wet wood chips, shovel them into pails and then the person who would be at the top would haul it up and dump it! Yuk!
  2. House Cleaning - for a little old lady down the street
  3. Waitress
  4. Convenience Store Clerk - also made pizzas, stocked shelves and ran cash register
  5. Housekeeping - at Sugarloaf Mountain Ski Resort in Maine
  6. Waitress (again)
  7. Flagger for road construction - about 50 miles from the canadian border, very hot!
  8. Travel Agent (I obtained mt travel and tourism degree from Boyd school of Travel in Pittsburg)
  9. Wife - still do this
  10. Shipping and Receiving Clerk - shipping german made paper folding machines
  11. Pharmacy Technician
  12. Sign Maker - have equipment to cut signs, plotter etc.
  13. Office Manager for my husband business - still do this
  14. Mom - best job ever. I don't have to tell all of the moms out there that under this job heading there are multiple subheadings!
  15. Realtor - still do this, getting better every day!
  16. Business owner - a few years ago I opened a play center dedicated to serving the needs of special needs children, this is a new concept that didn't catch on very quickly, unfortunately it took time away from my family and I had to let it go. It is my hope to try again in the future!
  17. Mortgage Associates Liscence

4. I love to garden and wish I had time to do more!

5. Just celebrated my 11th wedding anniversary, my husband is my best friend!

Well, those are the first 5 things I could think of that may give you some insight into who I am.

I am a very caring and loving individual who doesn't tlike conflict and is always looking to help others. I am a Realtor because it gives my the flexibility that I need to be the best mom I can be to my children, and the best wife to my husband!

I hope you enjoyed my MEME!Lady Running

Now to find three deserving individuals to tag, I am still getting to know people on this site, and who am I to say who is deserving - anyway I just surfed some areas and picked a few. If you have been picked before I am sorry - if not congrats!

Here we go: Amber Noble, Emily Lim, Kathleen Smith

Gotta get back to the kids!

The POWER of one!

We must never lose sight of the fact that we DO matter! We can make a difference in this world, this group, this business and this life.

With so many people in the world today it is very easy to get lost in the shuffle, to feel like you are an insignificant part of the community in which you reside, the business that you work in the groups to which you belong.

It only takes one action to change the course of things as small as the flow of air to the depth of the new path in which our country will take in the upcoming years.

We have all witnessed this in the last week and the upcoming week from the crash landing of the USAIR flight to the Innauguration of our new President.

What we need to remember is that one person made these things happen, one president elect and one pilot have brought major change to the lives of those that they are connected closely with, as well as the entire world, for it won't be forgotten the way the pilot saved the lives of those on the plane and those on the ground, and the changes that will soon be enforced by our new leader.

In light of this we must never miss an opportunity to make a difference in our lives and the lives of others. Consider doing something that will make a difference today, tomorrow, a year from now, or ten years from now.

Here are just a few suggestions to get the ball rolling:

  • Pick up the phone and call someone - call an old friend, a long lost relative, your mom or dad, your wife or husband and tell them you miss them and would be lost with out them.
  • Make a new connection - or reconnect with someone who you haven't spoken to in a while, a past client, an expired listing, an active listing that hasn't had any showings in a while. These connections may not have an impact on your life, or theirs immediatly but will somehow bring you closer to a relationship that will be beneficial to yours or their future.
  • Do a good deed - what comes around goes around, pay it forward. This will make you feel good, and them then in turn - well you get the picture.
  • Take a few minutes for yourself - you need to be happy with yourself before you can be happy for and with others.
  • Daily affirmations - I personally don't do these but I believe that "if you think it, you will believe it"
  • Volunteer - volunteer for a fundraiser or to participate in something that will bring joy and or help to someone in need.
  • Make a donation - goods or services of all kinds are always in need, clean out your closets and your mind - spread the wealth.
  • Teach others - you may have a telent or knowledge that could be useful or helpful to others, put it to good use. Maybe you are great with technology, help others who aren't and they may taech you something that could be useful.
  • Take on a new perspective - try putting yourself in someone else's position and think of how you would feel, or react - have some compassion for others, you never know you may be in the same situation someday. By taking thi snew perspective you will have changed the course of action to one that may be more acceptable to the others that are involved.

or if you only have a second or two to spare, consider these suggestions that may improve your mood or that of people around you:

  • Smile at someone
  • Compliment someone
  • Open the door for someone
  • Hug your kids
  • Laugh at yourself
  • Listen to your favorite song
  • Relax
  • Excercise

We are all in need of something! Some more than others, you can make a difference in your life and that of those around you. Let's make it a positive one!

Do you have the POWER OF ONE?

What do you do to make a difference?
