4H Fair Begins Today in the Nazareth, Pennsylvania area

The Annual 4H Fair begins today at the Northampton county 4H Center in Bushkill Township, just outside of Nazareth, Pennsylvania.

There will be many exhibits of projects that the members have worked on during the year. Members will be showing their animals, and non-animal projects will be on display for all to see.

Some 4H clubs will be giving presentations today. My horse club will be putting on a presentation twice for the visitors. They have worked hard on it and have lots of fun doing it. One of the members wrote the script for it. They all did a great job on it and will have a great time presenting it today.

Also, there will be games, a silent auction of some great items that were donated by the county clubs, cake walk, music, great food and much more.

Sunday will be the horse show and the well known, delicious chicken barbeque. The chicken sells out quickly, so you need to get there early. The chicken starts selling at noon on Sunday and goes until it is all gone.

It's a weekend full of fun for all ages.

Musikfest In Bethlehem, Pennsylvania In Full Swing

It's the first week of August and that only means one thing in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania.

MUSIKFEST

What is MUSIKFEST?? Musikfest is one of the biggest events in Bethlehem. In simple terms it is a festival of assorted music.

Musikfest offers many different types of music for 10 days. You can hear not only rock, folk, and jazz, you can also hear polkas (and dance to them, too), grease-bands, Christian music, Native American music, Celtic music and dance, bluegrass, carillon (I'll explain this one in another post), swing, and much, much more.

Even some big name bands are playing, such as "The Commodores", "Asia", American Idol winner "David Cook", "Yes", "B52's", "Pat Benetar and Blondie", etc. I think you get the picture.

Not only do you get to enjoy different music and dance, there is also lots and lots of great food. MMmmmmm. You can smell it all as you walk around: corn on the cob, funnel cakes, barbeque, tacos, gyros, you name it, it's probably there. Even ice cream, kettle corn and funnel cake. I love funnel cake and kettle corn.

As you enjoy the food and drink (including beer), you can sit and enjoy the music of your choosing. It makes for a great day, or even a week, out. Some take vacations during this time to be able to go daily and enjoy every minute.

Admission is FREE. Parking is available in parking garages, on the street (if you can find a spot), or designated parking lots in Bethlehem where shuttles will bring you to MUSIKFEST.

Musikfest began on July 31st and runs through August 9th, where it will end with a bing bang of a huge fireworks display on Sand Island.

Musikfest is close to the Bethlehem Sands Casino. So, if music is not enough for you, you can hop over to the casino (which some have done).

Come on out and enjoy the great food, music and dance at MUSIKFEST! Guaranteed you'll have a great time!
