The annual Blue Ridge Adventure Race held every April is the largest triathlon event of this type in the region. The 2004 race hosted 83, 4-member teams in a grueling mountain bike, canoe and running competition.

For the less energetic, Blue Ridge offers an incredible number of vacation rental cabins for those more interested in rocking on the porch, reading in front of the fire or just counting fire flies in the early evening mist.
