And if you can't read it, here's the link to the NCDOT Map the Brunswick County section of the Route 17 Bypass.
When you look at the map, the sections labelled B and A are what are important - the remainder of the bypass, the sections labelled CA, CB, and CC have already been completed.
Section A, which links the end of I-140 from Route 421 to 74-76, will be the first completed, breaking ground in 2009. The next section, Section B on the map will follow and connect I-140 from 74-76 to US 17 (as you can see it's just east of the intersection of 17S and 87 North).
There is one last section of I-140 that's not represented on this map. That section will (theoretically) extend from 17 to the proposed Skyway Bridge that is planned to cross the Cape Fear River to connect with Independence Boulevard in Wilmington. We'll keep our fingers crossed for the Skyway Bridge, but we won't hold our breath (it's not a mixed metaphor if you keep it in the same species, right?).

If you're looking for a low-maintenance home in an established, amenity-rich community in southeastern North Carolina - here it is. This three bedroom, two bath home with two car garage and private fenced back yard is in immaculate condition and ready for happy new owners.
Located in the Waterford of the Carolinas planned development, 1067 Garden Club Way is conveniently situated in the town of Leland, North Carolina. Shopping, beaches, golf, medical care, great restaurants, arts and cultural venues, and all types of entertainment are all within 2-20 minutes.
Let's talk about the house itself. Overall there are officially 1549 heated and cooled square feet, but it feels much larger. The house is on a corner lot, which adds privacy, and has a J-entry garage, which adds convenience and curb appeal.
The great room has a gas log fireplace with mantle and a sliding glass door with transom window to the patio. Notice the hardwood floors throughout the main living areas.
Here's another view of the great room, this time looking back to the foyer. You can also see the lighted ceiling fan.
The dining area is open and has ample space for a much larger dining set than the current owner uses. The area is light and bright.
The kitchen has ample cabinets and counter tops and is great for people who really like to cook. There's loads of storage space. This plan allows you to cook and still talk with your guests without a feeling that they're in the kitchen with you observing all you do. If you like, you can probably have four people working in the kitchen at once.
The master bedroom, with coffered ceiling and lighted fan, is also light and bright. It has an eastern exposure and sliders to the patio and fenced in back yard. The master bath and walk-in master closet are also accessible from this room.
If you'd like more information on this home or like to see it, please contact me at brucerbrown@yahoo.com or call anytime 910-0297-8753.
I live and work in an area with 200 miles of beaches and golf courses every where you can shake a stick at (sorry, couldn't avoid that too-obvious joke). As a resident, it's easy to take accessible beaches and plentiful, year round golf for granted, but as a REALTOR who often works with people from other parts of the country, that's a mistake.
I'd sort of forgotten about web cams but was reminded recently. I don't really think (happy to be shown differently) that a web cam on a golf course would be all that interesting, but certainly one on the beach would be. So now I'm including a link to the Beach Cam outside the Blockade Runner hotel on Wrightsville Beach on my blog and elsewhere. It gives a plug for the hotel, but that's OK by me, because their Beach Cam has been up consistently for years. The site also includes daily hour by hour info for surfers, which underscores our area's pre-eminence in east coast surfing.
Here's a link for the Beach Cam.
