This established southwest Austin neighborhood of Castlewood Forest is home to many ranch style homes, on large lots, some as big as .38 of an acre, nestled in the heart of busy south Austin. At the intersection of Manchaca Road and Slaugher Lane, you could never imagine the oasis of large homesites, and quiet tree lined streets that await you just blocks off of Manchaca Rd. With the convenience of the nearby HEB shopping center, and easy access to IH 35 and MoPac South, these homes are a steal. Most were built in the late 1960's and early 1970's, and have a median price range of $237,000, and square footage of 1,915. See if Castlewood doesn't remind you of that "Leave It To Beaver" neighhborhood.
This 64-unit condominium project is located just 4 minutes from UT, at the corner of MLK and Miriam. It is a hip, urban group of bungalows with sizes ranging from 1 bedroom flats, to 2-3 bedroom townhouses. Prices vary from $140's to $220's, with many already sold, but a few are still available. This is the perfect investment for the college student moving to Austin.
Breaking news on Gabardine, and an update to my previous blog. Just discovered that this will be a community of condominiums that will encompass 144 cottages and/or flats. Prices will range between $160's to $190's for these flats and cottages. And, the best part of this community is that all condos are detached, (stand on their own) have their own fenced in yard, and garage! Second best, is that the yards are maintained by the HOA.... so that means no mowing to you!
Call me at (512) 914-6118 if you are interested in taking a closer look at South Austin's newest community.
Another new subdivision is being developed off of Frate Barker, in far southwest Austin. GABARDINE, "a tailored little pocket of shady hollow", is so new the streets are not yet paved. Their model home is coming right along, and it is the cutest little blue, two story cottage I've ever seen. I can't wait to check out the inside after its completed, as it looks charming.
I'll keep you posted with more information as it comes available, or you can contact me.
