Friday I had a closing where I was the buyer's agent and Duke Fyffe was the listing agent. This is the first real estate transaction I have had where Duke was the other agent. I was so impressed with the integrity, honesty and level of service he provided, I had to share that with the rest of you.
From the initial contract submission stage to the closing table, Duke was truly a great guy to work with. He had a total of three offers come in on this property but luckily, my client was able to purchase this home.
Duke did a great job of counseling his seller from the very beginning about the type of maintenance items that would need to be addressed prior to listing. The seller had a new furnace, hot water heater and central air conditioning unit installed. My client, who is a single mother, will not have to worry about those big items for years to come, thanks to Duke's advice to his seller.
Duke has an assistant, Wendy, and between the two of them, they make sure that every detail is handled properly throughout the transaction. It is so nice to show up to closing and not find the need to flip through your file to see what signatures one of the parties still needs to sign. All of this was done prior to closing.
Additionally, everytime I called Duke on his cell phone, he actually answered the phone and said "Hello Belinda". Wow, first I was so impressed that he answered his phone and secondly I was impressed that he obviously added me as a new contact to his phone.
Let me just say that I will be going out of my way to show Duke's properties in the future. It was such a refreshing change to work with a highly effecient Realtor who is truly a nice guy and has a great sense of humor. If you ever get the chance to work with the "Duke of Denver", jump all over it!

The snow started yesterday afternoon and continued through the night in Denver, Colorado. Out on the south side of town, in Saddle Rock, we got about 5 inches of snow so far from this storm. Luckily, in my neighborhood, the HOA clears the snow from the driveway after an inch falls. We affectionately call these hard working individuals our "Snow Fairies". I heard them out there around 4:00 AM working hard in the freezing temperatures with their snow plows. This morning there was only about another inch on the driveway and walks to be cleared off the old fashioned way.
Here are some pictures from my Saddle Rock neighborhood. You will notice that even on this cold and gloomy day, the sun is trying very hard to shine through the clouds.

We've been so spoiled this winter with seasonably warm temperatures and trace amounts of snow. Hold on to your woolly socks Denver because Old Man Winter is due to arrive later this afternoon, just in time for a crazy cold New Year's Eve.
A winter storm warning has been issued for Denver starting today through tomorrow. We could see between 5 and 10 inches of snow with wind gusts up to 35 mph and high temperatures in the low 20's. We knew it would be coming sooner or later. Last year we had 11 inches of snow in December where this year we have only had 1.5 inches.
Denver International Airport is preparing for the storm with snow crews on standby. They expect 166,000 travelers through the airport today. United and Continental are already encouraging people to delay their flights if possible. With the flight snafu's across the country all week long, the airport would not be a fun place to be today and tomorrow.
Tomorrow night there is an annual firework display on the 16th Street Mall in downtown Denver. Lows are expected to hit -7 tomorrow night, so I think I will stay in and watch the fireworks on TV.
