On September 15, 2009, Woodlawn Middle School in Long Grove, Illinois was announced as one of the 2009 National Blue Ribbon Schools.
My twin eighth graders attend Woodlawn Middle School and I can't say enough good things about it. They don't miss a beat!
Four public Illinois middle schools earned 2009 recognition from the U.S. Department of Education. "The U.S. Department of Education Blue Ribbon is one of the most prestigious awards in education and we are very humbled to be receiving this recognition," Woodlawn Principal Greg Grana said.
"The great thing about an award like this is that everyone–from the Board of Education, students, teachers, and support staff to community members and administrators–gets recognized for his or her excellence," noted Principal Grana. We are going to continue to do what is best for students and strive to be a premiere school and district."
Woodlawn Middle School in Long Grove is the third school in District 96 to be distinguished by the U.S. Department of Education with the Blue Ribbon award; Twin Groves Middle School was honored in 2007 and Ivy Hall Elementary School was honored in 2008. The first school to earn national recognition in the District was the Willow Grove Kindergarten & Early Childhood Center, which earned accreditation in 2004 from the National Association for the Education of Young Children (NAEYC).

When you are negotiating on behalf of your client, it is always better to be the one who is more knowledgeable about the area. If you are representing the buyer and the seller won't budge on the price, you always have the advantage if you have seen the inside of the comparables and the reason that they sold for the price they did. A local realtor has the upper hand in the negotiations.
A local realtor also knows the best deals since she has seen all of the homes and can compare which one is the best. Two weeks ago, my client just bought the hottest deal in town. It was one of the prettiest homes I have even seen and my clients bought it for a great price.!
