Here are some pictures of the Patuxent River and Kingston Creekon Friday
This is not a blurry picture, this is the wind and rain blowing over the jetty outside of my house.
.
This is our Boston whaler on the dock on the Creek side of our property. We were worried it was going to float away.
This is my pier on the Patuxent River, low tide
This is just down the street.
All of these picures were taken on Friday, These two came back and I was glad all was o.k. with them

This was the very next day, Saturday saiboat races. Hard to believe after 3 days of hollowing wind and rain.

This is the new addition, I just had to show him off.

He decided he did not like me taking his picture.

I think he likes the trees around my property
This is a juvenile eaglet on the sand.
The Bald Eagle is a bird of prey found in North America and the symbol of the United States of America. It is found near large bodies of water with an abundant food supply and Old-growth trees for nesting. The Patuxent River is a great source of fish for the eagles. The Bald Eagle when grown, is a large bird with a body length of 28-40 in. and a wingspan of up to 96" it can be between 5-15 lbs. The females are about 25% larger then the males. The adult Bald Eagle has a brown body with a white head and tail. The juveniles are completely brown except for the yellow feet. Males and females are identical in plumage coloration. Their diet is mainly of fish. This eaglet will be mature in 4-5 years. Bald Eagles can live up to 30 years in the wild. The Bald Eagle is no longer on the federal governments endangered species list. Every year in front of my house I have 2 Bald Eagles that I have taken many pictures of. I believe the eagle on the pole and in the tree is the offspring of these two.

1 20-23 lb. ham you can have it deboned and tied or leave the bone in CORNED HAM REQUIRED
2-3 heads of cabbage chopped
9 onions chopped
2 handfuls of chopped kale ( this is basically for color)
3 Tablespoons of mustard seed
2 tablespoons of crushed red pepper
1 cup salt
If you have the bone removed have the butcher tie it for you. Make several v slits in the ham, go about 1/2 to 3/4 into the ham. Make several of these v slits in the ham. I use my sink to mix the above ingredients. This is where the fun starts. Stuff the cabbage mixture into the slits in the ham, the ham really does get big. You will have some stuffing left over, take this and put it on top of the ham, then wrap the ham in cheesecloth and tie the ends together or a clean white pillowcase with ends tied. This gets put in boiling water and simmered for about 4-41/2 hours, Now i use a crab cooker to do this, Which is outside . It's the biggest pot I own. I let it cool in the water, It's really to hot to try to remove right away. Now the first time you make this you might have added to much red pepper or not enough. this is a trial and error recipe, but it's so good.I have never found stuffed ham anywhere else, and it is my late mother-in-law Wilma's recipe. I had to watch her make it the first time, my hands were so red from the red pepper, I thought I must be crazy trying to learn this. This is one for the Active Rain cookbook
When we used to race J 24's these are some of the Lighthouses we passed from our route in Annapolis to St. Mary's City. It was such fun we started in Annapolis around 4:oo and sailed all night long until we reached the St. Mary's River sometime the next morning. I thought you might enjoy some of my fondest memories, and great adventures. These races are known as the Governors Cup, and they are held every August, Start is in Annapolis, finish in St.Mary's City, Maryland,in Southern Maryland
