This weekend they are proud to present The King Stag. It is a fairy tale full of love, betrayal, magic spells and merriment. Written in the 18th Century by Carlo Gozzi, it is the story of King Deramo and his long search for a queen. When he finds Angela, his love, the story becomes complicated when Tartaglia, the evil minister, also falls in love with Angela. Spells are cast to send the King's soul into the corpse of a stag and to cast Tartaglia's soul into the King's body. Confusion and fairy tale shenanigans ensue.
Please!! Stop Talking!!
Last week I was showing some homes to buyers in Sharon MA. There were some homes in Sharon MA that were having open houses, so we went to see them.
At one open house the listing agent could just not stop talking! We came in and she had to give us an overview. Okay, that was fine....I guess. Then she followed us from room to room, explaining and commenting. And there were a number of buyers there....and a fairly small house. So she stood there in the main room, talking and talking and talking and talking. I kept thinking Please! Stop talking!
I could not think, let alone take in the rooms I was viewing; neither could my buyers. Everytime we went to comment on something, there she was, talking at us or talking at another buyer. Eventually, we could not wait to get out.....and so we did.
The idea is to want the buyer to linger and discover the house.....for them to picture themselves in it. Now this house was not perfect but the price was decent enough and of course, the Town of Sharon remains a desirable market. The more she talked and tried to "sell" this house, the more it made us all wonder what the problem was. In the end, it was not the right home for my buyers regardless of how much she talked!
Sellers no matter how much talking your agent does, he or she is not going to "sell" the house. It either is or is not the right house for the buyers looking at it. And listing agents, please, please, please just stop talking!
(And I know, not all of you do this. In fact, most of you probably do not!)
Buyers looking to buy a home in Canton MA, Sharon MA or a surrounding Norfolk County community, let an exclusive buyer agent show you the house.....I promise, I will not talk through the process!

Canton MA's Galvin Middle School Performs at State House
I took a break from my busy day (busy week, busy month!) today to go in to the Massachusetts State House to watch the Eight Grade Chorus from the Galvin Middle School perform at the State House.
My daughter is in the 8th grade chorus and when I heard they were going to be performing there I thought it was a great opportunity for them. I wanted to see them yet as the day approached all I could think about was how busy I was. Luckily, I decided to go anyway!
They performed on the Grand Staircase on the second floor at the Massachusetts State House this morning. State Rep. William Galvin (who, yes IS related to the Galvin for whom the middle school is named) had arranged for their performance and was on hand to watch as well.
They performed some of the same songs they had sung at their Winter Concert yet it felt like a new performance to me. The accoustics in the historic State House building allowed their voices to be heard from the first floor all the way up to the fourth floor. It sounded fantastic.
All of the songs were wonderful but my favorites were the song "Africa" and their closing number "Song for Unsung Heros" which is a piece dedicated to veterans and first responders.
Kudos to the students of the Galvin Middle School 8th Grade Chorus and of course, their dedicated chorus teacher, Mr. John Russell, and all of the performing arts staff of the Canton Public Schools.
Upon completion of the concert, students were treated to a tour of the State House by Rep. Galvin and even got to visit the House Chamber.
