Hello Dutchess County, NEW YORK!
The good/bad news for home buyers and home sellers...the home prices in NEW YORK state, have gained in value in the last month. Total Sales are equal to the same/similar values of the year 2001. This is great news for Home Buyers, to get into a home at lower values now, is fantastic! The bad news, is, we do not, nor can we predict how quickly the prices will escalate!
The bad news for HOME SELLERS, is that prices are back to 2001 values....on the other hand, it could be worse, it could be back to 1995 ! So we have to keep the silver lining in place...a situation can always be worse! On the other hand, we see that home values are beginning to increase!
2001 wasn't such a bad year! Also other great news to get BUYERS out there: The $8k has been extended! Also, the government is offering a $6,5k credit to current home owners, who decided to upgrade their homes, and purchase a new home. These end in April & June 2010!

A short story about "God's Rock"
Consider if you will, that every rock is "God's Rock", next time you are outside, take a moment to pick up a pebble, a rock, or maybe a good sized stone. Image it, out in the Great wide open, pondering the greatness of it, small or large, how profound that it is what it is.
All Rocks have a story! Great or Small...
A farmer recently shared a story with me, and a phrase that I will never forget; "God's Rock". He witnessed his neighbor take stones from the meadow across the road, a neighboring parcel, to build a retaining wall in his front yard. The farmer asked his neighbor how could he take rocks from a property owned by another, his excuse, they are "God's Rocks".
He knew he was staring at a crook disguised in God's likeness, speaking God's words, stealing "God's Rocks", playing the Devils' games.
Just saying it, "God's Rock" it's such a powerful statement...
This is not something you hear everyday. I am humbled and inspired by such a profound phrase. I thought when I first heard this grand excuse, how insane & how brilliant it was, wrapped up pretty, with a bow. It's stealing anyway you package it. A crook is always a crook, they don't know right from Adam.
The irony of this story, is how the family would hold Bible Study in their home, inviting the farmer's wife, next door to attend. How could he steal? To hear a man of God, proclaim he had done nothing wrong. We know he studies the Bible, he's got to know , #8 on THE 10 COMMANDMENTS, is "Thou Shall Not Steal".
If I had my way, "God's Rock", would be on the top favorite Rock phrases. The question posed, how should we interpret the meaning? For all the crooks out there...."It's Free, Thanks to God", the Saints...."Don't Take That! It's Not Yours!", or simply kizmet...."If you are bad, bad things will happen to you". My next question would be, how would we see this become a popular phrase?

Here is where the "God's Rocks" story began...
Here are the stones, labeled by the taker...as "God's Rocks". What's amazing to me on other levels...the character of this farmhouse, lovingly built probably over 2 centuries ago. It sat on a hardworking Dairy Farm, left to crumble, brought back to life 40 yrs ago. I'm told the cows use to walk through the open house to stand on the concrete porch, to overlook the meadow across the street, where the 'trouble' stones would come from years later....did they know something the farmer did not? A home of humble beginings, returned to life, loved by several families, abandoned once again, for the last 2 years, now loved by termites. From a distance it's a beautiful home, upclose it's marred by pealing paint, rotten wood and stolen stones. The farmer's son, now late in life, told me the story about "God's Rock", and homes' current conidtion, or curses, one could say.
"They say" not to sweat the little things, rocks are definitely 'little' in the Great Scheme of 'things',
but...I think it's important to look at the little things in life, to appreciate them. There are many profound phrases that have risen to the tip of my tongue, when I want to throw out a, useless yet so meaningful, phrase with rocks or stones to make my point. And after compiling the list of Rock & Stone Phrases below, I believe "God's Rock" is in good standing to make it on these lists!
