Cape Cod Canal - What a Resource

While out on our training walk in preparation for the big event "Avon Walk for Breast Cancer - Boston MA" we came across not one, but two of these lovely birds. They are great blue herron. These birds are common in our area and can be seen in lakes, ponds, marshes or here on the canal if you are lucky.

The canal is a very popular destination for walking, jogging, bike riding, or roller blading enthusiasts. It is approximately 7 miles from the rail road bridge to the other end at Cape Cod Bay. The road is not open to traffic, other than the occasional maintenance truck. There are rest stops along the route if you need to use the facilities.

Cape Cod Canal

This is a place of serenity for me. Even a difficult day will melt away within minutes of arriving at the canal for a walk. There is so much to see between the wildlife, the boat traffic, and the friendly greetings received from those passing by. If you are fortunate enough to live nearby this resource, I hope you take advantage of what it has to offer. If you happen to see me out there, you will certainly be on the receiving end of a friendly greeting.

East Bay Grille at Pinehills Golf Club

Did you know, that East Bay Grille has expanded and will now be providing their fine cuisine at lobsterthe Pinehills Golf Club? East Bay Grille is one of my favorite restaurants on the waterfront in historic downtown Plymouth. I have eaten there on numerous occasions and sent family, friends, and clients to this fantastic restaurant. For more information on their restaurant, visit their website East Bay Grille.

I was very pleased to hear of their expansion, and I am sure that it will be a boost for the golf club and an additional benefit to the residents of the Pinehills, Great Island, Seton Highland and the surrounding community.

I look forward to my first dining experience at their new location. If it is anything like their main location, I know I am in for a great dining experience. If you have not visited the Pinehills in Plymouth, make sure you check out my previous post Pinehills in Plymouth MA is Worth a Tour.

Hollywood East - Dream is Getting Closer to Reality

It has been several weeks since I posted about the progress of Plymouth Rock Studios and Hollywood East. Over the past few weeks, many favorable events have transpired in respect to the project. There have been several meetings with the planning board regarding the site plans, plus approval was granted at town meeting for the access road - Rock Studios Drive. The access road must be built before any construction is allowed on the sound stages.

Since it has been a little while since my last post on this project, I have included two webisodes from Plymouth Rock Studios - The Series. This webisode highlights the sound stage and its importance to the overall success of the project. If all goes well, construction for the sound stages will begin as early as fall.

The latest webisode, "Why Film in Massachusetts" has some very nice photos highlighting what Massachusetts has to offer to producers in the film industry. Not only is there the 25% tax incentive for those that chose to produce films in MA, but the charm, historical attributes, and unique characteristics of our state make it a very appealing area for movie production. For more information on what movies have been produced here, check out one of my previous posts:
Hollywood East - Feel The Action.

As the dates for construction draw near, it becomes more exciting that this is not just a dream and will soon be a reality. This is a very exciting time for the local community.

I have tried to share some of the more informative webisodes on this project. I hope you are enjoying the updates.

Pinehills in Plymouth MA is Worth a Tour

Pine ConeHave you visited Pinehills in Plymouth Massachusetts? If not, perhaps you should give me a call so I can take you on a tour of this unique community. Nestled among the pine trees, rolling hills, and situated within the two beautifully designed regulation golf courses, is a community unlike any other that Plymouth has to offer.

If you are considering living in the Plymouth area, then Pinehills should be on your list of must see destinations. This community is well established with conservation and open space being a large part of their overall plan. Within the community, you should be able to find a home that is suited to your individual taste and preferred lifestyle. Whether you are searching for a townhome, a single family, a resale vs. custom home, or if you prefer one of the two 55+ communities, there is plenty of choice available.

To give you an idea of how I introduce my clients to this community, here is a summary of what to expect.

First, I like to take my clients to the Village Green to get a coffee, coffeemuffin, or a light lunch at Cafe Olio's. The food is good, the atmosphere is casual, and there is a very welcoming feel about this place. Between the post office, the Cafe, the florist and the other village merchants, there is always activity in the village.

The next stop is the Summer House where the professional staff provides in-depth information pertaining to the community. Again, the atmosphere is casual, the architecture and decor is visually appealing, the staff is welcoming and one of the most important things to me as an agent - there is no use of high pressure sales tactics. There is a sense of pride that is self evident when they describe the features and benefits of living in the Pinehills.

I usually stop at the Stonebridge Club to show you the tennis courts and the pool which are available to the residents. From there, I base the tour on your personal interests whether you are searching for a townhome, a single family, a resale vs. custom home, or if you prefer one of the two 55+ communities of Great Island or Setton Highlands.

If it is your first visit and you are unsure of your preference, be prepared for a busy day. I will provide a tour of all areas if you are up for the challenge. Just make sure you wear comfortable shoes as you will be tired once the tour is complete.
