Playa Del Rio Property Owners Association communities, Bullhead City AZ 86442 including Playa Del Rio Units 1-4 and Palo Verde Shores is one of only two communities with gated private marina and boat launch along the beautiful Colorado River for exclusive use only by members.
Willow Valley is the other--read about it HERE
The Playa Del Rio boat launch subdivisions are a mixture of manufactured and site built homes, while Palo Verde Shores is homes only built in the early 2000s and up.
Playa Del Rio and Palo Verde Shores have city sewer and underground utilities. Prices range from the 50s for a manufactured home, 80s and up for site built all the way into million dollar riverfront estates. And Rotary Park is a few blocks away, with its sports fields and skateparks, and more boat launches!

Membership in the Association is VOLUNTARY, but a good idea -- as the marina and launch add value!
There is a one time initiation fee of $750.00 that 'runs with the property' as long as the dues have been kept current. If you are buying property in the area, it's a very good idea to find out if the seller has paid this. Each new homeowner must be approved by the Association and apply at close of escrow with their fees and proof of ownership.
Playa Del Rio membership is not transferred via escrow; the old and new homeowners must negotiate and agree on who pays the fees and the new homeowners must apply with the Association Board.
Playa Del Rio is exclusive; there are apx. 500 eligible homes, and only 150 currently are active members. It's great to have such a small amount of people to share your little paradise with!
Once approved, the dues are paid annually:
$160.00 for walk-in and boat-access gate cards
$60.00 for walk-in gate card only.
Dues are from July 1 to June 30 and new gate cards are issued each year the Friday before Memorial Day (the official start of the Summer boating season here.)

All those hoops and you'd think the powers that be are pretty stuffy! Quite the contrary; HOA President of 11 years, Bob, walked me around to snap the new pictures you're enjoying right now! :)
For more information on Playa Del Rio, Palo Verde Shores, Willow Valley or any of our Colorado River communities, give me a call and I'll be glad to share what I know!
Hey! Looks like I'll see you at the River! :) >------~~~~~
Gary Woltal is what I would refer to as 'good people' -- always insightful and uplifting.
This past week, Gary put on a caption contest and through no skill whatsoever except being quick on the draw, I win the contest - a C note.
I asked him to donate the $$ to his local animal shelter. There are a lot of abandoned animals out there who need love and care. And funding for shelters is severely limited.
Being the gentleman he is, Gary offered to send it to me to donate to my local shelter.
I got the idea to match his donation in my town. So 100 bucks is going to the Mohave County Shelter on Vanderslice Rd, Mohave Valley AZ 86440 first thing in the AM.
And Gary is a member of his local Humane Society. So as of today, two animal shelters in AZ and TX are richer. And who knows how many dogs and cats will be healthier and more comfortable?
I challenge YOU out there in, near or by way of AR Land . . . to do the same.
If you know local shelters in your area that need help, are underfunded or understaffed . . .
. . . would YOU please help?
If you can give ANYTHING - whether it is a dollar, donating a blanket or bag of food or toys, or a day of volunteering - to be of assistance to your local animal shelter,
put all your contact information INCLUDING link to your blog in a comment RIGHT here.
If you know of any animal shelters that REALLY need help . . . please post them here.
You are welcome and encouraged to re-blog this to your own state via Localism.

The no blogjacking rule is OUT THE WINDOW here!
AS LONG AS YOU HELP, it's all good!
IN ADDITION, it might help your business.
The number of Baby Boomers whose pets are their kids WILL CHOOSE YOU to do business with. I would! I WILL.
THANK YOU AGAIN GARY for your generosity. You ROCK!!!
I was out with my Luna at Petsmart this week, and ran into a former client of mine who is a groomer there. We stopped to chat and I told her how much Luna LOVES "The Puppy Store" and how cool it is to have a fun place to walk her when it's 120 outside.
The conversation turned to pet friendly shopping in our area . . . and I learned of several pet friendly shopping locations in our Bullhead City 86442, Fort Mohave 86426, Mohave Valley 86440 areas that I did not know about . . .
For pet friendly shopping in and near Fort Mohave 86426, (with friendly and immunized pets of course) give these spots a try:

Petsmart . . . the national chain of pet, grooming, training and supply stores epitomizes pet friendly shopping and is happy to receive and even provide treats for your pooch along with a Disneyland of sensory stimulation. In the new Target Center on South Hwy 95 @ the Parkway.

Home Depot . . . despite the "No Dogs" sign at the front door, which I was told are placed there to reduce their liability, your friendly pup is well received while you shop for DIY stuff and garden supplies. North Hwy 95 just West of the Laughlin Bridge.

Ace Hardware/Tri State Building Materials with Bullhead City and Fort Mohave locations: Hancock and Lakeside in Bullhead and South 95 and Camp Mohave (1 mile North of Aztec - the road to the Avi) offers pet friendly shopping.

Blockbuster Video--I have to admit I was a bit surprised at that one and have not yet tried it so call first. But I was told that they permit pet friendly shopping by someone who's tried it. Miracle Mile just East of Hwy 95 in Bullhead.
and if you need pet friendly lodging . . .
Lodge On The River is a GREAT WATERFRONT lodge right in the heart of Bullhead City on Hwy 95 a few miles Southwest of the Laughlin Bridge. They are pet friendly for most not-too-large pets. And you'll love lounging by the pool on the shores of the River!
Luna sez: "I love pet friendly shopping!"

There's nothing nicer than a sunny morning walk, me and the Lunapup tromping down the walking trail at Rotary Park, with the river winding beside us:

The midmorning boaters are arriving, but the river's still pretty smooth. It just seems to roll along . . . unlike me, aimlessly . . . with no pressing matters to attend to.
I am envious . . . I have a long day ahead . . .
If you're more into 'trad sports', an adult softball tournament will feature local and out of town teams.
The family stage featuring local dance troupes and hypnotic magic. (Ooo, hypnotic magic! I wonder if I can get the Shredder up there to 'relearn' his housecleaning skills! ) ;)
In the beer garden will be an adult contemporary stage sponsored by Lazy Harry’s Bar & Grill featuring local bands as well as a few surprises. This is where Blood Orange Project will play on Saturday night!
The alternative stage sponsored by Our Local Scene that will feature local and well known touring acts such as Voodoo Glow Skulls and The Skeletones. (You will LOVE seeing the Skulls who have been a Cornfest favorite!)
Many of the area's non-profit organizations will run game booths for the young at heart to enjoy all weekend.
Friday 3:00 -- 10:00 p (all times MST/PDT)
