I had someone ask me this question the other day. It really is a great question. One thing I've found true in the last couple of years is that the "current market" can really vary by community and even by neighborhood.
Many people assume the "current market" is only what they hear and see from the various news outlets. Well, there are some areas that sales have been very slow, and foreclosures high. But there are other areas that are still fairly high in demand, with prices holding steady or even some slight increases.
The real question is how much could you sell your house for in your current market! Assuming that you're within the territory I normally service, my first steps would be to meet with you to perform an evaluation of your home and to perform a comparative market analysis (CMA) of your area that would provide you with detailed information regarding recent sales and listings. If your home is too far away for me to provide you with the quality service you deserve, I could refer you to someone who does cover your area. Just let me know! Most Realtors don't charge to provide the home evaluation and comparative market analysis.
Also, please take a look at my website, http://www.MyTexasDreamHomes.com. There are a lot of great reports on my site with helpful information for both sellers and buyers. Most of them ask you to fill out a short form to access the full report, but don't let that worry you. Your information only goes to me, and isn't shared with anyone else. Once you submit that form, you'll be able to review any of the reports contained on my website without being prompted to fill out a form again (as long as you're on the same computer).

I was reminded by a comment I received of a blog entry I submitted just over a year ago, titled "This Realtor in Texas is Not Quitting!". So, I thought I'd provide an update for 2009.
Well, I'm glad to report back to you that I AM STILL HERE, just over a year from having posted this blog!!! 2008 was great for me - definitely a break-out year and by far the best year I've had in the few years I've been in Real Estate. I feel almost embarrassed and ashamed to admit it, because I know it's been quite tough on many. But, I take the approach that I'm here to help others, and in the process of helping, I receive my rewards as well.
One thing I've realized is that no matter the economy or the news or the politics, people will continue to buy and sell homes. And I'm glad to be here to help them! I've had clients who were relocating due to family reasons, looking to move up as their family expands, looking to downsize as the kids have grown up, looking to experience the American dream of home ownership for the first time, and looking for many other reasons. Everyone has their own reasons, their own goals, their own needs. I'm here to provide a service for them in the most professional and cheerful way I can. And, by being focused and in tune with their goals, I am achieving my goals!
So, once again, count this Realtor as one who's in for the long haul. For anyone out there who is looking for a Realtor in the North Texas area, please contact me - I'd love to assist you!
