Looking at Your Home For Sale From a Buyer's Perspective

selling your home

In life, sometimes, it takes looking at things from a different perspective. No more is this true than when you are trying to sell your home.

Its a good time to think about yourself as a home buyer of the home you are about to sell. Ask yourself, "What were your favorite things about the home?" There is a good chance your favorite things could be a potential buyer’s favorite things too and the answers are probably things that could put your home first before the other houses on the market.

So how do you capitalize on this? One good strategy is to make sure they see the favorite items in the online pictures and to have a list of your favorite things available online. You want to make sure that these aspects of your home show off for the potential home buyers. For example, you have a custom-built California closet in the master bedroom. Make sure have a couple of pictures that highlight the fantastic features.
Likewise, if some of your favorite things about the home is the backyard, kitchen, master bathrooms, etc,. make sure these areas are "show ready" and stage well. The last thing you want it someone to miss the great aspects of your home!

Great Tip on Staging Your Home To Sell

packing

We talk a lot about staging a home in today’s Real Estate market. Believe me, I think staging is a BIG part of success in selling a home at a higher price with a quicker turn around.

One step that is equally important is packing. Packing should be the first step in getting your home ready to sell. One of the things I tell my seller’s is take it room by room and closet by closet. Take a deep breath and ask yourself if you can live without the items for the next couple of months. If the answer is yes, pack it up!! Buyers need to be able to see the size of the room and closets. Packing before staging will make the stage process a breeze.
